screws stuck

I'm new to this forum as well as to being a brand new Millie owner. I have been posting my problem to all the wrong places!

Here goes: My Millie started acting strange. She wouldn't stop sewing when I hit any button and the single stitch function didn't just single stitch. I did contact APQS and Amy kindly answered right away with a detailed explanation on the whys and wherefores as well as a very detailed instruction on fixing the evidently not so serious situation.....WELL Here is the problem... I can not get into my Millie to do the minor adjustments. The screws are in so tight that they won't budge. My husband and I have tried a special tool, liquid wrench...etc etc. Besides a can opener what are my options? I love my machine...this seems like such an unnecessary problem. Why would the factory guys use such force to tighten the machine... I don't plan to launch it into space...does any one else?

What can I do? I have quilts to quilt! I'm desparate here!
