pigletaz
Can anyone tell me the width of the 12' table? I'm trying to figure out my studio and need a measurement. I cannot find it anywhere on the website or in the brochures. I am getting a Freedom SR with a 12' table and I'm guessing, estimating that the table width is about 48 to 55 inches. Am I close?? Darlene Epp
Hi Renee, The actual "foot" print of the table width is 49". Of course, that's just the table. The machine carriage sticks out past that on the backside.
ramona-quilter
Renee, Then you have to consider your "backside". I've heard that you want at least 3 feet from the furthest point that the machine will extend just so you can quilt from the front and the back without being "squeezed". pigletaz
Darlene and Linda, Thanks for the info. Yes, my "backside" is not as skinny as I'd like, but I lost 3 pounds the last 10 days! Ok, so what would you guess is the overhang of the carriage at the back of the table, more than 6"? mrsbishwit
Renae; My liberty's "comfortable" foot print is 14 1/2' X 8' (my table is 12 ft) so for your freedom I think 14 1/2' X 12' would give you more than enough space to work in front and in back of the machine without having to push it forward or backward depending on which side of the machine you are working on. pigletaz
Joann, Thanks - I've switched rooms now. My husband moved out last Saturday (for good... or well, for bad depending on who you are). So, now my business is located in the master bedroom where the room is big enough and I can lock the door when the kids are roaming about after school. Then Miles won't be quilting someone's quilt for me!! Everyone --- thanks so much for the info. I can't believe it's almost here.
