pencel
I don't understand why people HATE tattoo's. When a person inks their body it is for a good reason. My grandfather was a commercial fisherman on the Mississippi. He was known to almost everyone as "The Catfish King." He was the only grandfather I had and we were extremely close. When he died last year I felt lost... until I got my tattoo. Now I feel as if he is always wathing my back. Thank you for being an inspiration in quilting, artistry, and life. pencel
In case you read this and were confused... I meant for this to go onto Karen McTavish\'s Topic about her tattoo\'s. Sorry, I\'m still new at this.
quiltmonkey
Lisa, Hey I like that catfish! He\'s really cool! Your grandfather would be proud, I think!
Sheri Butler
What an awsome memory to your Grandfather. I too was very close to my grandfather. And as well, he also was a big fisherman! So, I can totally relate to this!
pencel
Thanks Shana and Sheri! I was hoping I didn\'t offend anyone. I as I said I tried to put it on K McTavish Topic, but obviously got lost on that one. I was also a bit shocked at how big it came up. I was not sure how big it would be... oops. BethDurand
I love the sentiment, but I\'m not a tattoo person. However, it\'s your body, you do with it what you will. I bet it does feel great having your grandfather with you all the time. Thanks for sharing. Beth
kennan100
How cool is that! Love the tat! I completely understand the sentiment. Many people get a tribute tatoo, and always for the coolest reasons. Your Catfish King is a wonderful rememberance motivated by love. How sweet! I bet you were his favorite! SandraC
I\'ve been wanting a tattoo since I was sixteen but was never sure what I wanted til this past year but still didn\'t get it done til Greg died. I ended up incorporating something of him into the tattoo. I got it on my foot and it\'s pretty cool, I think. My son also got his second tattoo 2 weeks after Greg died in November. I\'m thinking the loss of someone kind of inspires people somehow to get a tattoo done?

KathyA
very colorful. love it. my DH has many tatts and finally made the committment of placing my name with a rising sun on his arm. Only took 5 yrs of standing next to him as he got various tatts to convince him it was forever both ways. Love those tatts.

MaryLou5740
Isn\'t that just the cutest thing! Don\'t be embarrased by your tatoo. The only time I think it should be covered is if you\'re someplace really special - wedding, church, funeral, etc....but where you are comfortable, your tattoo should be comfortable. I\'m an old lady and am still proud of my tattoo I got many years ago. And in fact, have drawn up one I want to get...a tatoo of a kitty in a tu-tu and have it put on my...bosom...may just do it one of these days...but I\'m getting so wrinkledy, it may look like a whole litter of ballerina kitties..lol ML
SandraC
Here\'s my tattoo...just got it before Christmas...inspired by a quilting design that I like to do.....only took me 30 years to get the nerve....
