MQX Winners were announced this morning. I found this list on the MQP Yahoo group and I see several APQSer\'s. Congratulations to all of the winners!!

PS. I copied the list just as it was posted on MQP, because it was too long to edit on my lunch. So it contains some extra information besides winners that you\'ll have to filter through.

Hi Debbie,

Thanks a lot for having posted the list, and CONGRATULATIONS to you, too!

Linda, Teresa and Sandra - thanks a lot for your congrats.

And in the Group category, my online quilting group\'s quilt (All Under the Same Bright Stars - which I designed, assembled and quilted) entered by my friend Teri Barile won 3rd place...

You have asked for a picture of Josefine\'s Star. Well, here you go...

Doing the happy dance here,

Birgit

Myrna, I wondered about that. I know that you do alot of Marilyn\'s quiting. You both do brilliant work. I always have to stand and let my eye wander around on your work. It is always so beautiful and intricate, I want to take it all in. I saw Kachina at Road2CA. The quilt\'s artist statement was:

Artist statement: I pieced “Kachina” to showcase Myrna’s quilting skills. Even though I used many different fabrics in the log cabin blocks, they are relatively calm in order to let Myrna’s quilting shine. I added the beads by hand after quilting.

I remember that I loved the colors and those quilted diamonds in the border were gorgeous.

I love to go back and look at the entries:

Just so I don\'t miss naming anyone, congrats to all of you that entered and also those of you who won. It is a privilege to be on this list with you.

I also know Elizabeth Spannring (well, I don\'t know her real personally, but she is a teacher/speaker who lives out here in WA). I see she won a couple of things as well.

Hi Everyone,

First of all, I want to congratulate our APQS winners at MQX. Birgit, your quilting is fabulous. I enjoyed seeing your quilt that won at Rd2Ca, too. And Deb, even though your quilt was at MQS, do we get pictures to remind us?

Secondly, I would like to point something out. With the exception of the two quilts of Marilyn\'s that Myrna has quilted so beautifully, Marilyn does her own work. She specifically pieced Katchina and Cactus Rose so that Myrna, who doesn\'t have time to piece, could enter the Tools of the Trade competition at MQS and show off her expertise, mostly with the Hartley Products. If you have had the opportunity to see Katchina, you know it is a worthy winner, in many ways. But, the rest of Marilyn\'s quilting, including the work she does on my projects, is all Marilyn. She agonizes through the universal question--"what should I quilt on this quilt?" and rips out the imperfections, just like the rest of us.
