My First Pre-Design

Recommended Posts

Hi Sylvia,

It's the same program :)

You can use Pre-Design to prepare artwork for embroidery digitizing software (and then export to PEM-format to use in Design Center, or export as solid color BMP, or as hairline thin black lines, or as EMF) but you can also export your quilt patterns to DXF format (for computerized quilt systems) AND you can print your pattern at actual size, and create a quilt stencil or a panto :)

See info on page: http://quilters.pre-esign.eu - especially the Screenshots section with little slideshows and movies how to use Pre-Design for longarm quilting.

Love your paperdolls. I hand drew one years ago for a quilt but yours is cuter. She is a lucky 5 yo.-, the quilt is perfect for a little girl.

Seeing that turned into a circle design is neat. Makes me wish I had a computerized system to play with. Can't afford it but maybe someday. Though I do love freehanding and now seeing what I can do with my new QZ

Funny how this ancient thread of 2008 is revived :)

Meanwhile we have added lots and lots of functions to our Pre-Design Studio software since 2008. We have added more quilt formats too.

See http://www.pre-designstudio.com

Movies can be found on page:

http://www.pre-designstudio.com/tutorials.htm

And even more important: we have over the past years developed new software, dedicated to longarm quilting and suitable for machine embroidery as well. It is full digitizing software, called Art and Stitch.

See website http://www.artandstitch.com

Movies on page: http://www.artandstitch.com/tutorials.htm

We will be teaching Art and Stitch at the Milwaukee Machine Quilting Show in August 2011 (the Jump Start class is fully booked but they have added an extra class on Saturday) and we will be having our own Art and Stitch Retreat - 2 days of hands-on computer classes, all dedicated to creating your own quilt patterns with Art and Stitch - August 16 and 17 2011.

For our full class list see page

That is a darling quilt, and your use of the paper doll borders is a wonderful addition to finish the quilt!

The paper dolls remind me of Mary Engelbriets little girl paper dolls that she frequently includes in her Home Companion magazine.

Adorable!
