APQS Closed Wednesday, August 8th for Employee Appreciation Day
cmkeindl1 and one other reacted to DawnCavanaugh for a topic
Hello Everyone, The summer is winding down, kids will soon be back in school, and quilters will start gearing up for the fall and winter. But our APQS team members work hard all year to keep our quilting family going strong. In appreciation for their dedication and hard work, APQS will be closed on Wednesday, August 8th so that we can treat our employees to a day especially devoted to them. We will re-open for business on Thursday, August 9th as usual, and will do our best to get your calls and emails returned in a timely manner. Of course, if you have a quilt "emergency" pleas2 points -
And then it loaded sideways. Lol. Here's another.2 points

2012 APQS 1930's Block Swap
JustSewSimple reacted to Busy Quilting for a topic
Congratulations to all those ladies who sent me a block for this swap in January 2012. I had made my quilt into a top in 2013 during a quilt retreat and put it away as the theme for my Queensland Quilters Inc show this year was "One Block". I quilted the quilt in January this year and entered into our state Royal Agricultural Show. It came second in its category but has taken out the Best Machine Quilting Award. My very first Best of Award. So thank you to all the participants for helping me to make this happen.1 point -

Circlelord - what to buy first
Beachside Quilter reacted to Oma for a topic
Figure out what size you need (12" or 15"). Decide what your style is. Then purchase everything you can afford. I love my Swirls boards. The Egyptian Eye will be great for a little more masculine design. I really like the Square Dance boards. The new one called Ribbons looks really nice. I may be using it next. I have Daisies and it always looks nice especially on baby girl quilts. The Baptist Fan sews out fast and nice. Actually I have a lot of them and I love them all. Put them on the payment plan and get what you can afford. You won't be sorry you did.1 point -
Circlelord - what to buy first
Oma reacted to Beachside Quilter for a topic
Hi Delores: I love my circle lord giant boards. The ones I use most are Swirls; looks great on any style quilt and stitches out very quickly and easily. The Swirls is a tried and true long favorite. Of the newer board designs, my favorites are Egyptian Eye and Wanders. They are super easy to stitch and look wonderful on anything, especially modern style quilts. You can't go wrong with any of the boards. Pick one and try them and you are sure to be hooked! You only need boards and rear stylus to get started.1 point -
"Oopsie" about quilt police thread--a contest!
Wannabelongarm reacted to ffq-lar for a topic
Looks like the winners are Sharon and Lucy! Please email me so I can get your choice of prize and a mailing address. lindarech@comcast.net The mistake is in the block to the left of the snowman family. The right upper corner block has a HST that needed turning to complete the pattern. If you found another oopsie, please post so we know where to look! Thanks for playing!1 point -

Opinion - Permanent Fabric Pens
Dars reacted to pumpkinpatchquilter for a topic
Micron Black Pigma pens...available at most craft stores - even Walmart! Iron them for about 8-10 seconds and they are permanent and washable. I use them for all of my quilt labels and any quilt that needs permanent writing. Just a tip if you didn't know already - it helps if you iron on a little freezer paper to the backs of the blocks to be signed...writing on the fabric is so much easier with that little bit of freezer paper stabilizer!1 point -
The Sakura Ident-i pens are my favorite for ease of use and permanence. Sherry Rogers-Harrison, of Inklique fame, had a trunk show last month at my guild and that's the product she suggested for signatures.1 point

Yes, you need to enter some of your own work. Your quilting is always wonderful and I love watching your progress on a quilt. Congratulations to both you and your friend Linda B.1 point -
Okay, so I think I found it, and it took me 50 seconds. But I was too busy wondering if the problem was that a tiger should not have another animal in his cage with him. That should not happen!!! Also. Do snowmen sing?1 point
