Good morning! I also do not shine the light on the quilt. I made a tray that goes across the leveler bar and the quilt top bar and put the motif on that with a piece of plexiglas over the top to hold it in place. Then I put the needle down where I want it, adjust the laser light and off I go. Works really well. One thing I learned from have a computerized system on my prior machine is that the more you do a motif, the more it imprints on your brain and pretty soon, you can actually do them freehand. Nice, eh? I also found out something really exciting yesterday thanks to Jessica Schick.

I substitute teach in Sunday School for a lady who has been in the hospital for over 6 months. She got out about a month ago and the same day they had to put her back in....Two weeks later she was sent home and after two more weeks was back in the hospital. She has RA really really bad and had gotten some type of infection in her system. She almost died twice. I decided to make her a prayer quilt. I had been wanting to make a scrappy quilt so I made a Scrappy String Quilt. I wanted really bright colors so that it might be uplifting and not just blahhhhh. Normally I wouldn't have used

Hi I have Lucey and I want to move the laser light to the front of the machine. The post on need to put it on so that it shines on the quilt is too short. Does anyone know of a extension to use to have it taller. I am not a free motion quilter I need lines to follow, although I am practicing every day to get better. The classes at MQS were awesome, I learnt so much. I am in Iowa so it was within driving distance, it was great to have it in Iowa.

I always prewash I had a red fabric that ran after anyway. I went and rewashed with sos from quilt shop all came out.

Quilting can definitely be a ministry ... it blesses the giver as well as the person receiving the gift. its a tangible act of God's love using the willing hands of His obedient servant. Keep being obedient!

Hi Nancy Jo! It may not be the leader that is crooked. Check the large threaded bolts that hold your rollers. The top take-up roller and the front (backer) roller bolts need to be checked. If one bolt has more threads showing than the other, that side will roll tight since that makes the rollers not parallel with each other. The front roller bolts are horizontal (stick out towards the front) and the back roller bolts are vertical. Adjust them until each pair has the same number of threads showing. You may have both sets uneven and that will cause even more sagging as one side rolls tighter.

Just finished a high school graduate's double sided t-shirt quilt on a Lucey. Actually its more than just t-shirts. I put the front of softball jerseys on the front and the backs of these jerseys on the back. I also incorporated 20 photographs printed on Kona cotton. The batting was Quilter's Dream Select. Several of the jerseys had heavy embroidery. Lucey never missed a beat. I actually had professional quilters tell me they wouldn't touch this. Guess they didn't own an APQS!

Chicken Scratch: I'm using warm and natural. It's not a very thick batting. Michelle: I watched the video and found it very helpful.

where are you located? Maybe someone close by can help. You can call APQS and they will help. They do not care how old you machine is, they are there to help you. They helped me a lot when I first got started.
