    Yard Sale Star

I recently brought this long-forgotten yard sale find of my Mother's to life through quilting. It was a job, there wasn't one square corner in the entire piece. Mom intends to use this one as a table topper. I hope she'll enjoy it for years to come, I'm so glad she trusted it to me; quilting it was just as satisfying as it was a challenging! I loved every minute of working on it, thinking about the original maker and wondering what her (or his) intentions were, I believe they would approve of the end result!

It's been a learning curve attempting to get back into quilting with a new baby in the house - but I'm grateful to have a job where I can be with my kids - leave the dishes in sink and work in my pajamas. This is the third Sew Spooky quilt I've worked on in the past year and a half and I am trying to make it a little different. Using double batting (Hobbs 80/20) and trying to keep it simple yet clean. 11709816_1012681645411755_7482478944966826352_n by Valerie Smith, on Flickr 11698932_1011398328873420_6346337331441830379_n by Valerie Smith, on Flickr 11141260_1011976522148934_1896931996052417830_n by Valerie Smith, on Flickr

    Customer Service is A #1!

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to APQS for always providing amazing customer service. Right now I'm dealing with an issue with Lowes and Samsung and all I want to tell them is they could really take a lesson from you! I have never had anything but quick responses and so much help, even on holidays! You are amazing and I just wanted to say you were, I don't even have a problem unless of course you can fix my 5 month old fridge

    APQS Ultimate II . SOLD

I may be interested, does this Ultimate 'll have a stitch regulator? Has there been any other issues with this machine? I live in Maine, would you know what it would cost to ship it here? Jean Morang

    Happy fourth of July

A happy Independence day to all of you too. My grandaughter was born 8 years ago on the 4th so we have a party to go to this afternoon. I have steaks to grill when we get home. God bless America and it's armed forces. David

I agree completely with Joyce. If we don't abide by the rules set out by the people who run the program, it may not be offered again; the rules are fair and clearly stated. So: plates Yes, patterns No! (unless we buy the entire kits, which contain the patterns -- no problem trading those, because we've paid for them and they're not limited to one per person). P.S. I'm not a shop owner and have no personal stake in this program. Barbara

Truth be told you are not supposed to share them at all. The shops are trying to drum up business by having people stop in and spend money. The plates are far game the patterns are not. IMHO.

A gal has started a group on Facebook which is Row by Row PLATE Swap. Just request to join and there are a lot of quilters willing to exchange plates. Good Luck Diana
