my co-worker is an awesome furniture maker. I made him a trade, shelves for a quilt. that's the quilt his wife picked, hanging (sideways), on the wall to the right. he brought 2 shelves over yesterday and is finishing up the one for under the window. ALL my fabric is out now, just have to decide how I'll display it. thinking of wrapping it around card stock. can you say BOING!3 points -

Yesterday, yes even on a Sat., I had to go about 30 miles, up to Raleigh for an MRI, at 9:00 a.m. Then at 2 we went to a friends funeral. She had a sense of humor that can't be beat. Well they were a mixed race couple, and he was color blind. One day: He asked a friend to put something out in his 'white' pickup. The guy searched high and low out in the parking lot and couldn't find a white pick up. He went back in and told Freeman there wasn't a white pick-up out there. Freeman pointed to a pick up and said, "its right there". His friend told him, "That is gold, not white!"2 points -

As a young child, I remember Christmas eve setting out cookies and milk and awakening Christmas day to find them gone and my stocking full of surprises as well as gifts under the tree. Then when I'd lose a tooth, the next morning there would be some jingle under my pillow. Last night, I loaded my quilt and this morning it was in the same condition as I had left it. I have come to the realization, that there is no such thing as a "Quilt Fairy".2 points -
start up machine needle won't stop moving

Amy at APQS was wonderful .It appears my Needle up sensor had gone bad. They sent me a new board and now it is top notch. The way we could tell it was a possible sensor problem was that the 5th light on the left bank did not light up.2 points -
I know....I feel the same way. Even when I quilt it in my dreams it's still not done when I awaken the next morning.2 points

Here's one I was sent from a long distance customer. I'm currently working on it, but will post "afters" when I'm completely done. I don't know the story, but I'm hoping that she'll share. So Fine thread, Hobbs wool batting.1 point -
I took the plunge and just ordered the Bliss Upgrade for my 2006 Millie. I can't wait to see how much easier the machine will operate. I've only read good things on this forum regarding Bliss. I also saw the video from Sparrow Studios showing how "Lenni" moved down the table with only a fan blowing on it, what? Talking with Amy yesterday kind of sealed the deal. Looking forward to my delivery. Yours in soon to be smoothly rolling stitches, Kim1 point

If you do customer quilts down the road, you should let them know you have a cat who loves your quilting studio. You can and will have customers who do have allergies to cats. It is best to disclose pet Information. My business is listed as per free and smoke free, since I have allergies to both.1 point -
Bought this fabric and pattern came with it about 7 or more years ago. Trying to get my cabinet a little empty so I can buy more fabric. The Border is Stars at the Gate by Christy Dillion of My Creative stitches using QP. Used Floriani thread top and Metro on the bottom. This is the quilt I was working when my QP went down over the week end. I played with Bliss at a road show recently. First I sewed on a Freddie without the Bliss system. It was nice and smooth and easy to move. I really didn't expect anything big from the Bliss, and was quite sure I wasn't going to pay extra for it. Then I moved to the Millie with Bliss, and it took all of about 10 seconds to completely change my mind! I clearly felt the difference, and I KNEW I had to have Bliss on my machine when I ordered it. So I sat down with Josh (the presenter) and put a deposit on a machine WITH BLISS. Can't wait!1 point

How to make a flange that will not catch on hopping foot...
CinFar reacted to RoseCity Quilter for a topic
I'm posting this in a new thread, so it can be found easier in a search. After reading the post "Ever quilt this" and what was being said about how longarmers hate flanges, I thought I would pass on this tip. It looks like a flange, but... Start by cutting strips of fabric 1" wide and seam together if needed. Press in half wrong sides together. Open up and lay flat right sides together, one raw edge next to raw edge of quilt top. Stitch down just inside the press line... 033 by RoseCity Quilter, on Flickr Now repress... 035 by RoseCity Quilter, on Flickr Add next border as1 point
