Terry, I am very much a traditional-type quilting gal. However, I think this piece is fantastic. Your quilting is absolutely amazing. Congratulations on being juried into the show. This piece is simply amazing!

Gorgeous! I love the butterfly on it. -
Wow! Your quilting is fantastic. I don't think you need to practice - you nailed it! Yes, you can practice on customer quilts anytime.

Converting to cpq and motif to repeatable
Sue E. replied to trudie's topic in Gone Quilting...Chat About Anything
Trudie, do you have the Art and Stitch software program ( http://artandstitch.com ). If you do, you can convert the designs there. If not, it is a process. It has been years since I've had my CompuQuilter, but I would have to take the dxf file into a cad software program (I think it was AutoSketch or AutoDesk or something like that). Also, I believe Ellen Munnich's software, ProQ Designer ( http://pqdesigner.com/index.htm ) could convert the dxf files into cqp files. Good luck! -
Beautiful quilt and quilting.

I originally had a 2005 Millie and table. In 2008, APQS came out with a new light and a better location for their on/off switch. I upgraded my head and kept my 2005 table. I don't know about the newest machines, but I assume the head would fit on any table. My system is not blissed as I am computerized and don't do any free-motion quilting and decided I didn't need to spend the money to get the bliss rails. I still have my 2005 table and my 2008 Millie head.

Fantastic quilt. You did a wonderful job on the piecing and the quilting. Nice work! -
I don't know anything about the Innova computer system, but I have had both a QuiltPath and and IntelliQuilter and I say get the IntelliQuilter. It is a phenomenal system, easy to learn, can do everything, and the service people are top-notch. There are lots of videos and info at iqdemos.com . There are also several groups you can join before you purchase your system. This is a big plus because if I had had all this information prior to my QuiltPath purchase I would have made a better decision for me.

Be sure you have the stitch length selected. It might not move if you haven't done this.

I sent you a PM.

Connie, I love your idea of charging a one-time special design charge if you have to purchase a design for the customer. Thanks for sharing that.

Win A Millie September '17 version
Sue E. replied to Mary Beth's topic in Gone Quilting...Chat About Anything
Oh Mary Beth, I can so relate to this. I was tutored almost every night in my junior year in high school to get me through my algebra course - that was the last course in math I had to have! When I was in college and took an accounting course, I barely passed my final exam because not one of my columns on the 10 column worksheet balanced. All my numbers were in the proper spot but I couldn't add up all the numbers - remember this was long before adding machines/calculators were allowed in the classroom. I didn't have enough time (or fingers) to do the math. About 15-20 years ago my husband's office was looking for someone to do some accounting work and my sister-in-law asked if I wanted to work part-time for them. I asked my husband what he told her - he said that by the time he stopped laughing, she had left for the day! I was never asked to work for them. I can do simple math, but don't ask me anything complicated. Thank goodness for calculators! Actually, quilting has helped me slightly with my math skills. You do need to be able to do some simple math to figure out some patterns. -

LED retrofit for fluorescent light machines?

Tammy, go to Home Deport or Loews and see if they have the LED lights that will fit your light fixtures. They are out there and available. -
LED retrofit for fluorescent light machines?

My husband says these will work. We changed out my fixtures and the bulbs, but he says there isn't a problem using these with your existing fixtures. -
Very nice!

These quilts are adorable. I love all the background fills you used. Great job by both you and Lera. -
My "go to" thread right now is Omni. I love it. I have no problems with tension and I like how it looks. It is thicker than So Fine but I have the best luck with it. I also have no problems running Maxi-Lock Swirls. In the past I have had problems with Highlights and Rainbow. I have several cones of King Tut and had no problem with it, but I don't seem to use it very often. I usually run pre-wound bobbins. I was given lots of them by someone who didn't like them and I am still using them up. I also have some BOBs I use. I have used Glide thread only a couple of times and had no problems but the Glide bobbins I bought have thread that is too thick (I'm not in the sewing area so I don't remember which one it is) and I don't like them at all. I need to buy some other Glide bobbins and see how they look and act.

Dave Jones has been doing installs on the CQ systems and I am hoping that he will be able to give us hardware support - I haven't talked to him but I'm hoping!
