  1. I know I have seen a post about a making a quilt hammock to keep the bottom of your quilt off the floor when you are floating a quilt. We are redoing our floors and taking up the tile. I need something to keep the Quilt batting and top clean. Can anybody help me please. Thanks
  2. I talked to Quilters Dream customer service and one suggestion they had was lay batting out on bed and wack with a yard stick. Sent pictures but haven’t heard anything else. Next time I will be a wacking !
  3. Thanks, I did my best, will call them today.
  4. It’s not a big cup but almost a little flap or wave! First picture , the other is wrinkles.
  5. PLEASE HELP! I am using dream puff and had it resting for three day and it still has bumps and wrinkles. You cannot put it in the dryer or steam like my other batting’s. Does anyone know what to do? Looked on Quilters Dream Site and would call but ,of course it’s a weekend and I need to get this done.
  6. My bottom thread keeps breaking and it’s getting caught in hook. I have a video but it won’t let me attach. Here is a picture.
  7. Im trying to do a labyrinth quilt and can’t get the designs to rotate. Sounds like this could help me also.
  8. Sorry for late response, flue got me and havnt moved in two days. Thank you, anyone else? I need something modern and different. Mainly for white area.
  9. I have a custom for a good friend who made a Delectable Mt Quilt. She is Modern and doesn’t want panto. Name of quilt will have something about the Blue Ridge Mts. Am doing paisley feathers on the outer edge. Was trying to get star in quilt but don’t think it’s going to work.
  10. Thank you all so much for all the suggestions and all were followed....but...... Thought I would update this topic. The glide thread worked but this customer really doesn’t like the shine. I thought this is not going to beat me. So ........I needed top tension tighter? i changed my needle to a 19, mostly cause I ran out of 18s I retreaded the machine and looped the thread through both holes on the thread guide above the tension disk. O I took off the ruler plate and took off one paper side of the bobbin and “ voila “ it worked. It is great tension without having the tension knob and bobbin case at extreme settings. I wish I had done each separately so I would know which one worked or if it had to be both. This custom is primarily freehand with little ruler work so I might find out later. Hope this helps you when your stumped. thanks again for all all the help.
  11. I am in Virginia, I have been using a humidifier in the basement. I want to start on this quilt but would like some opinions on the batting.
  12. yes, That is the way I Did it. that way the clips won't pull or stretch the minky
  13. It has been awhile but I didn't have any problems. I did use a batting. I think a low loft poly batting. Make sure you don't stretch the Minky when loading. Load with the lengthwise grain against the leaders. I adjusted tension as usual. Good luck Betty
  14. I tried the glide bobbin and it pulls through easier . I was able to loosen the top tension and and it looks lots better. The only thing, this customer likes the cotton look and not the shinny look of glide. What a way to start the week.
  15. I have already cleaned out the bobbin case and did get some fuzz out. I cleaned out the bobbin area to make sure nothing was caught. I usually can get good tension just by the feel. This has me baffled. The batting is the only new element. Maybe I will try a glide bobbin but I don't have the color I need.
  16. Wow!!!! It amazes me to see all these beautiful quilts!
  17. I am piecing the lion now and I think I will follow your quilting advise. Prayers for all! Betty
  18. Has anyone used Dream blend 70 cotton and 30 poly? I am having problems with balancing my Tension. I have the bobbin so loose (super bob) and the top tension so tight that the screw is sticking way out. I have re-wrapped the thread guides and even changed threads. Even though my bobbin is loose, when I pull it through the batting it feels tight. Has anyone dealt with this before? top threads: 1st Gutermann, 2nd Superior
  19. The spools just pulled right off and I rubbed the rest of glue off the stand. ( like rubber cement) I thought about using poster putty, but couldn't find any so resorted to the glue.
  20. I am finishing a quilt and in order to get the right color for the accents I used two threads. Don't have a duel cone holder so used small spools of Mettler's poly sheen, used fabric tack glue and attached to cone holder. Worked like a charm. Hope this helps someone!
  21. It is beautiful! I had a quilting friend recently die and it is hard not to call and ask her advice. What a very special tribute.
  22. From what I understand: 1- the bliss is steel and doesn't oxidize like the others. You can wipe them with alcohol it won't hurt. 2- The black wheels that are on the bliss, do not use alcohol on. It will dry them out. I use a brush and q tip to clean them. 3- Yes, clean the edge of the carriage with left over batting with alcohol. You will see black come off onto your batting. I roll the machine all the way forward and clean, then back and wipe. Hope this helps and if not right others please chime in so I can learn.
  23. I to have been thinking about how to handle some charity quilting. I too have gotten burned by a quilter who asked me to do a charity quilt but always has another longarmer quilt her quilts. I'm thinking about doing something like a punch card . I would punch only for e2e quilting. After ????? ( So many) punches they can turn in card for free quilting on a charity quilt. Twin. This way I can get more e2e quilts to do and repeat customers.
