Lemon Tree Tami reacted to Tamarack in Day Break Quilt
I just finished my last client quilt for the year so I thought I would share some pictures as it was so fun to quilt.  My friend Lynn pieced this top using the Shimmer fabric line and a linen/cotton blend fabric for the background.  The pattern is called Day Break by Jaybird Designs. I have my own Day Break quilt in batiks ready to go on my machine now that it is my turn to play and I will probably quilt it similar to what I did on Lynn's as I am really happy with how it turned out.  More pictures on my blog!

I pulled the last quilt off of Edna today (happy dance).  I am way behind on sharing pictures, but here are a few I thought you might enjoy.

This is a musical throw.  Customer wanted some additional musical motifs.  I used Glide to keep the gold going in the fabrics.

This is an eye spy quilt I made for my grandson's second birthday.

And...a tree skirt.  I put way too much work into it for the money, but like how it turned out.

Lemon Tree Tami reacted to ffq-lar in Giant Dahlia quilt
Here's a link to the latest off the frame. It's a bright Giant Dahlia made from batiks. I used thread colors to match the petals--So Fine and BottomLine--with BL taupe pre-wound bobbins. She brought Soft and Bright poly batting, which I love to use. The background is my version of McT-ing and I outlined some flowers that were part of the design in the batik fabric, just for some interest. The center was a bit full, so I let the batting do the work and stitched a couple of lines of petals to nail it down. This is my next-to-last before the end of the month. Arrow right for details when you get there. Thanks for looking!

Does anybody know who won?  My husband had a call from Iowa on his phone, but he didn't know the number so he didn't answer it.  Who ever it was did not leave a message.  It would be awesome if it was from APQS, but I doubt if it was.

If it was APQS, call my phone instead. I promise I will answer.

I connected with a sweet lady in my area when I made an appeal a few days ago on this forum.  I wanted to "try" an Ultimate II, and she said "come on over."  We visited at her kitchen table, and she was so kind to show me her machine, giving me some pointers along the way.  Thank you buslady.   We made a plan to go to the next local quilt show together, and we both made a new friend today.  :-)

Lemon Tree Tami got a reaction from Quilting Heidi in NQR - New puppy in the house
Last weekend we drove to the Portland/Vancouver area to pick up a new puppy. He's our third cairn terrier and is already adorable. His pen is in a corner of the family room so that he can see me when I'm working on a quilt. So far he's captured our hearts but I will be most glad when he's able to sleep the entire night without having a potty call.

His name is Frankie and he's 10 weeks old and joins Fearghus (4 1/2) and Fiona (2 1/2). He has the cutest little overbite which is why we were able to get him at such an early age. We now have our very own F-troop. Of course no one younger than us will understand the reference. LOL

In quilting news, I have three charity quilts to do. And just a few minutes ago a lady from one of my guilds contacted me to quilt a king-sized quilt by Christmas. It'll have to be a rush job because it won't be pieced until the end of next week. Slowly I'm adding to my client list. Yay!

Uh-oh, the puppy is crying again. Gotta go and see what's going on.

ohhhhh!  A cairn puppy....I so want one but am thinking I may be getting a bit old....I have two senior cairns, age 12 and 13.  They are still hoots...but nap a lot in between their antics.  I remember when they were pups...really had to keep on my toes....now they have me trained well and our routine is pretty much set....Cali got me up at 4:30 this morning cuz she likes to eat!  I made them scrambled eggs with their kibble...I love your other two too...mine are both brindle and dark...Cali was a Blondie until she was 3-4 then turned dark....folks had a hard time believing she was the same dog.  I love how cairns coats change.  Now they both have a fair amount of gray on their heads and chest.  I also love how when they go outside during the summer, I get a glimpse of red in Cali's coat.  Have fun....Some folks say that having a cairn is like having a perpetual teenager...they are always testing the limits....and I also found that they are not a dog who exists to please you...you exist to please them!  I do believe I am still alpha but some days I am not so sure.  After having cairns though....I don't think I would ever have any other breed...they do worm their way in....I volunteered at the local dog show for several years and only saw one cairn in the obedience rings...and she stole the show by stopping midway around the ring and taking a big yawn....then looking around at the crowd as if to say  Oh well....I guess I will finish this silly exercise....Lin

Finally finished Monica's 12 Days of Christmas quilt that took me about a month due to morning sickness - and then a down machine - TWICE!

I had to finish the last border of feathers on my Juki, but I got it done.  I wish I could have got better photos - there was a little wrinkling from shipping and I had to re-arrange my living room to lay it out flat-ish, but, at least you can see what I did!
