  1. Is it possible to program Quilt Path in EZ or Basic, to quilt multiple rows without stopping after each row? We have not seen it mentioned in the first three YouTube lessons, and don't see the option on the menu. Thanks for your help!
  2. Thank you, Georgene. I have tried this button, but it appeared to have confused the system. I will try again. I am very new at this, so probably did something else wrong as well.

    Nesting rows

what is the Facebook page for APQS quilt path? I searched and it does not come up. Thank you! I found the answer -- thanks!
  4. I've been realizing that my really intense quilting jobs usually involve about 10 bobbins (I always use Bottom Line pure wounds), and have begun to wonder if it would make more sense to simply charge for quilting by the bobbins used, rather than different prices for size and difficulty. What do you think? Foe example, 1 bobbin = $50, 2 bobbins = $100, 5 bobbins = $250.
  5. I have a friend who is a new longarmer and just completed a quilt that she made for her neighbor. She made the quilt from scratch (piecing, quilting, binding). And, the neighbor also wants pillow shams made. She has no idea how to price this. I know there have been posts in the past about this, but I can't find them. Can you give her some pricing ideas, so that she can present this info to the neighbor, rather than picking a price out of her head? Thanks for your help!
  6. I recently bought a new pack of needles for my Millie from a local longarm supplier (not APQS), and want to make sure they are the correct type. The yellow opened pack are the needles I am using now. The unopened black pack is new. Thank you for your help! Joan

    Santa's Studio Helpers

Since it is that time of year for Santa and his helpers, I thought it would be fun for us all to share photos or stories of our Studio Helpers! SantasHelperNumber2 by LadyLakeQuilting, on Flickr Here's what I found one morning when I went in my studio to start quilting. Babe is a foster dog, so we can forgive him for not knowing any better. SantasHelperNumber1 by LadyLakeQuilting, on Flickr All my helpers are tired from the long hours! At least resident dog, Cutter, knows better than to actually lay ON the batting. He figured snout snuggling was allowed!

    QZ Spiro Attachment Not Listed

Does any one know why the spiro attachment is no longer found on the QZ website? A friend is considering buying a used QZ with spiro, so I wanted to know how much the price new is, and it is no longer there. Questions: For those of you that did buy the spiro attachment new, how much was it? Second, is there something wrong with it -- is that why it is no longer offered on their website? TIA

    Non-SR w/ Circle Lord?

Do any of you use the Circle Lord or Quiltazoid without the stitch regulator on? I have a friend with an Ultimate 1 and no stitch regulator who has the money to buy either a CL or QZ, if it works with her machine. Didn't I hear a while back that you can buy stitch regulators for the Ult 1? Thanks for your help.
  10. I learned recently that some quilters remove the top roller bar (that you pin the bottom edge of the top to), so I thought that I'd try it. Only problem is, now there is no place for the manual brake to attach to (besides the belly bar). Any ideas on how to still have a brake, with the top roller gone? TIA!
  11. My step-mother gave me a set of Frixon Eraseable Gel Pens for Christmas and swears that I told her they work to mark quilts. I don't remember saying this, and thought I'd check with you all, the experts on this. It says on the instructions that the pens have thermo-sensitivegel ink formula which disappears with erasing friction. Any comments?
  12. What are your ideas for quilting this woven ribbons baby quilt? TIA!
  13. Okay, so sometimes the seams on quiltops need to be pressed a different direction or the top needs pressing in general. No steam does not do the job even at the hottest setting, however steam wrinkles the fabric as shown here, especially on thinner fabrics. The customer is allergic to starch. What do you do to avoid or fix this problem? Thanks.
  14. Well, after viewing Sharon's video, I realized that I do use a similar handmade board -- a big board. But I have had it for about 10 years, so I wonder if it is too hard because perhaps the batting has squished down from so much use. It does seem like the wrinkles happen because the area over seams is thicker than the center of the patches, so the bottom of the iron only presses the areas with the thickest widths, if that makes sense.
  15. That is a good suggestion, Sue. I'll take a look at what Sharon uses.
  16. I haven't heard of wrinkle eraser spray. The wrinkling happens more with thinner fabrics, but not necessarily inexpensive. It does happen with regular weight fabrics too. I wonder if it is my iron. Maybe I need to set the steam at a lower setting.

    looking for techniques

He could use grid paper to draw the human forms, and then methodically go thru each square, deciding what color it will be and if it is a full sqare or half-square triangle, then piece it.

Beautiful quilting, as always, Ardelle. I love the piecers fabric choices and the pattern, also.

    QZ Spiro Attachment Not Listed

I received the following response from the owners of the Quiltzaoid, regarding why the spiro is no longer listed on the website: On Sun, Mar 17, 2013 at 11:55 AM, Linda Anderson wrote: > Joan, > > We did take the spiro off our website and it has been discontinued. There are no issues with the product and we will always stand behind it. It was a business decision, the main supplier of some of the components of the spiro raised their prices and it was enough that we didn't feel we could pass those increases on to our customers. > > Maybe we will be able to offer it again in the future. Thanks for asking. > > Linda & Adam

    Just wondering......

Hi Vicki, I could see quilting on each swag, in the center and all in matching blue thread, the orange flower head found in the center of the quilt, plus about three simple leaves. It would tie the swags into th design of the quilt top.
