    Madelyn,
Maddie is doing really well.  She came to stay with me last weekend, it had been a while.  I couldn't believe how much she grew, now almost 5' tall!  She is just as sweet as always and is such an easy kid.  It was the first time she actually talked to me about her mother and the whole situation.  I know she loves her mom but she also knows that it wasn't her fault.  She told me that mommy "made bad choices."  She knows it wasn't daddy or I trying to keep her from her mom too.  It is amazing she is such a good kid.  Hopefully I'll see her more now.

    Hi All,
It has been so long since I've been on the forum.  I don't get much computer time these days.  I keep my daughter's twins who are now 16 months old!!!!  No idea where that time went.  For all my old friends that followed Landon's story, he is doing great!  It has now been 1 year since he had his open heart surgery and he is thriving.  He is such a little charmer.  He will probably still need more surgery but for now we are so thankful for how well he is doing.  Scarlett is doing wonderfully too.  They both have brought so much joy to our family.  Most days I'm crazy busy chasing them around.  We finally moved into our new home 11 months ago and my studio is set up.  I haven't gotten a ton of quilting time in but hoping in the new year I will be able to get at it again.  We just built a baby cave for the babies and they can play while I sew and quilt.  I've had it up just over a month and oh it is a little bit of heaven for them and for me!  Once the craziness that surrounds the Christmas season I'll have time to focus on my quilting again.  I hope all of you are doing well.  Just wanted to say hi.

Last Year I got my Lucey as an early Christmas present. This year my husband asked me what I wanted and I told him a small Heavy duty sewing machine that could sew up to 6 layers of denim, leather and vinyl. So he got me that. Then 1 week later without asking I got a brand new Nissan Rouge. What a wonderful giver my husband is. Just wanted to brag on him a little. My Lucey of course is my favorite gift of all!

Here are a couple of pics of a recently quilted customer quilt.  She did machine applique quilt monopoly thread.  I thought it was a super cute quilt.  It has one layer of Hobb's wool batting and was quilted with the Metro Pro Thread.

Quilting Heidi reacted to quiltmonkey in Keeping the top and batting off of the floor
I don't have any suggestions except I did read a ways back on this forum that some people created a "hammock" to hold the quilt top in. It's basically fabric that is pinned to the leader that forms a pouch you can scrunch the quilt top inside that hammock. If it is what you prefer, do it, but I wouldn't want to push the quilt top into a hammock.
I've been quilting for 10+years on my Millie. I have never floated my tops. I have always pinned them to the leaders because I like the tension control it gives me with the roller. Managing the quilt top in this way helps to smooth out any fullness, and it keeps the top from dangling onto the floor. The batting of course is dangling on the floor but my handy dandy vacuum is standing at the ready. My floor is vacuumed numerous times -- before quilting, during quilting and after quilting to keep any stray strings, etc. from getting on the batting.

Well I came to the forum for the first time in months and I'm shocked at the attacks on Jessica and her brother David and even Deloa.  I consider them all friends.  Judi I'm truly sorry that you don't have a working machine but that is 100% Dave Jones and sadly those related to him are paying the price...not fair.  I have to say that you will NOT find more honest people than Jessica or her brother David and any attempt to link them to their father's poor business just isn't fair or necessary.  Deloa's business is actually now separate from Dave's business.  Deloa is in fact married to Dave but I can tell you that she is not a malicious person, not a thief and sadly has no control over the horrible things her husband has done.   I am sorry that she has had to deal with all his bad deals and being put in the position she is in because she is one of the nicest people I know.  Jessica didn't even have to come to this website and warn anybody about her father and I'm sure it hurt her to have to do that.  She did it because she cares about others and would NEVER  do anything bad to anybody and certainly doesn't condone her father's poor choices.  Coming from a family that isn't always on the up and up I can tell you I sure wouldn't want to be dragged into their stuff like this and it just isn't fair.  Please don't attack David and Jessica, they are really good people and don't deserve to be treated like this.  Yes I will agree that Dave has problems and has done horrible things but Jessica and David shouldn't be sucked into it.  If I knew how to service the machine I would head to Judi's house and try to get her up and running.  I'm sorry it happened.

Hi everyone, I very seldom post or reply to posts but this one, has really upset me.  Yes, I have heard about the  dealings with Dave Sr.  after he had set up my older Millie a few years ago, luckily, I did not have problems.  I do feel Judi's  exasperation and the frustration of not having a running machine, but I feel this forum is not the place to accuse, slander and muddied others' names and ruin their reputations.
I agree with Shana, this should be a matter settled by a lawyer or a small claims court.  We must remember that one little " bleeding thread" can really  taint the whole quilt, so one ugly word spoken in anger can ruin friendships and forums friends in this instance.
Lets be civil and respectful of one another.  Merry Christmas to all!!!

Good Morning Heidi,  I, for one have really missed seeing you on the forum.  I was wondering about the twins and how Landon was doing.  I think about you guys every once in a while, and I will through up a prayer for you all.  So glad you are moved and got that part over with.  I always hate to move, seems like its such a stressful time for everyone.  Hope you and family have a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Blessed upcoming New Years.

Jessica I admire you for taking the high road here with regards to Cagey.  I admire you and your mom, always. This entire situation with your dads behavior is unfortunate. I hope that whoever has had problems gets things resolved appropriately through the right channels, not dragging it out to air on the forum. It makes me very sad to see the negativity that is written here.
Things can be resolved between this person and your dad through proper legal channels without dragging the drama out on this site. You and your mom do not deserve it one bit. You both are top shelf good people. Those who need resolution should contact the legal authorities have the proper authority deal with Dave Jones.
You, Jessica and your mom have highest integrity and you do not need this drama to ruin it. Continue to Stay on the high road because the view is so much nicer up there.
    Love, Shana

Gail yes I have an older machine 2008.  I had Dave service my machine and he did it before he started being unreliable, sadly I would not recommend him anymore :-(.  APQS provides really good directions.  I really do love the new ruler foot.

I thought that this APQS site was to support people in a positive way, not tear people apart. It sickens me to read the hateful words and attacks on good people. Let’s be nice people!

Judi contact a lawyer and have him/her write a letter to Dave Jones to get this resolved. You as a consumer have rights. Jessica and DeLoa deserve a little respect. They are small businesses in a small quilting world. Reputation is everything to them. Please don’t ruin it!
Let the authorities handle this. File a lawsuit if you wish. That should get his attention!
Let’s all be nice and respectful and work it out through proper channels.
