    Hi All,
It has been so long since I've been on the forum.  I don't get much computer time these days.  I keep my daughter's twins who are now 16 months old!!!!  No idea where that time went.  For all my old friends that followed Landon's story, he is doing great!  It has now been 1 year since he had his open heart surgery and he is thriving.  He is such a little charmer.  He will probably still need more surgery but for now we are so thankful for how well he is doing.  Scarlett is doing wonderfully too.  They both have brought so much joy to our family.  Most days I'm crazy busy chasing them around.  We finally moved into our new home 11 months ago and my studio is set up.  I haven't gotten a ton of quilting time in but hoping in the new year I will be able to get at it again.  We just built a baby cave for the babies and they can play while I sew and quilt.  I've had it up just over a month and oh it is a little bit of heaven for them and for me!  Once the craziness that surrounds the Christmas season I'll have time to focus on my quilting again.  I hope all of you are doing well.  Just wanted to say hi.

Well I came to the forum for the first time in months and I'm shocked at the attacks on Jessica and her brother David and even Deloa.  I consider them all friends.  Judi I'm truly sorry that you don't have a working machine but that is 100% Dave Jones and sadly those related to him are paying the price...not fair.  I have to say that you will NOT find more honest people than Jessica or her brother David and any attempt to link them to their father's poor business just isn't fair or necessary.  Deloa's business is actually now separate from Dave's business.  Deloa is in fact married to Dave but I can tell you that she is not a malicious person, not a thief and sadly has no control over the horrible things her husband has done.   I am sorry that she has had to deal with all his bad deals and being put in the position she is in because she is one of the nicest people I know.  Jessica didn't even have to come to this website and warn anybody about her father and I'm sure it hurt her to have to do that.  She did it because she cares about others and would NEVER  do anything bad to anybody and certainly doesn't condone her father's poor choices.  Coming from a family that isn't always on the up and up I can tell you I sure wouldn't want to be dragged into their stuff like this and it just isn't fair.  Please don't attack David and Jessica, they are really good people and don't deserve to be treated like this.  Yes I will agree that Dave has problems and has done horrible things but Jessica and David shouldn't be sucked into it.  If I knew how to service the machine I would head to Judi's house and try to get her up and running.  I'm sorry it happened.

I just put this one in the mail to my in-laws yesterday. It’s a Moda Bake Shop quilt pattern using a Jelly Roll, which gave me a little trouble and I ended up doing some creative piecing to get it finished. I used Superior Monopoly to ditch it, beside the ditch, as the seams are all pressed open, then completed the rest with a Glide 40wt. Lenni worked really well with the Monopoly, thank the quilting gods! ;-).  It’s about 60” square after washing. And I need to give credit to Tracey Russell from Whirls n Swirls Quilting who came out with the background full video the day I put it on the frame!

Cagey, I’m not sure why my name is being brought into a business transaction that I have nothing to do with. My rulers are made by my brother, who runs my mother’s website. I have no control over what they post or recommend. I live in the complete opposite side of the country and work very hard at providing ideas and products to this industry.  I have been in this business for going on 15 years and never have screwed anyone over. Why would anyone think it is appropriate to even bring up my name and attempt to bruise me with something I have nothing to do with?

In my opinion, I think that the quilt show market became waay way waaaaaaaay oversaturated. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing. Quantity over quality?  I'd much prefer to have a few "really good" quality quilt shows with great quilting class offerings and amazing quilt competitions, rather than the many shows that were springing up everywhere. Oversaturating a market is the cause of its demise, I believe.

I would guess that some didn't really understand your question, although the board has been a little quiet.  I would say if you want to be able to do more quilts you could get a computerized system and a hand's on system.  There are some that have 2 or more machines going all day.  You could also consider teaching.

I would concentrate on design.  I would do some straight line work in the dark diagonal around the star.  Then do a stipple in the areas around the star to make the star pop.  I would probably do straight lines in the white sashing and then do some kind of design to make a circle around the initials pop.  Good luck!

Quilting Heidi reacted to SWall in Iris quilt
I had the privilege of quilting this beautiful applique Iris quilt for my neighbour/friend. It has a wonderful story behind it. She made the quilt top back in 1988 for her daughter and as young daughters go, didn't like it once Mom had almost finished the top. So, my friend put it in storage along with the rest of the fabric and backing. Now this summer, her mother is moving from her home to a new condo and my friend felt her mother needed a new quilt for her new home so she dug this out of storage and her mother loved it. She was ready to bring me the quilt and then realized the borders had never been put on so she needed to quickly do that as well and so fortunate that she had kept all the extra fabrics! I had SO much fun quilting this for them. AND another exciting note is that my friend is now eagerly awaiting her very own APQS Millie!! We are going to have so much fun sharing ideas and learning together!

Just off my quilt frame this week, "Surf Song" bargello.  From the book Twist and Turn Bargello Quilts by Eileen Wright.  Needed a king size quilt for my bed and instead of adding borders to make a king sized "Surf Song" I kept building the bargello to the edges.  I quilted it with IQ and the panto Ripples by Lorien Quilting.  I will make coordinating batik pillowcases and of course still need to bind the beast!!

Awe thanks Libby.  These were fun to do and they went together so quickly.  The twins don't have many words yet but they say mama and Nana LOL wonder how that happened?
