  1. You've been added to the group, Debra. Browse through the discussions but take a look at the Files Section, as well - lots of info there!
  2. You're welcome, Debra! If you're Facebook savvy, you might want to join the We Love APQS page there - lots of knowledgeable folks there, with instant notifications, if someone has a question or a problem.
  3. Check that your power fabric advance is still engaged with your Pickup roller. If the set screw isn't tight against the flat part at the end of the Pickup roller, it won't turn the roller.
  4. Janet, If your tablet has been out of Airplane Mode at any time in the past, it may have downloaded and installed a Windows Update, which tends to stomp all over our QP drivers. You will likely need to reinstall those drivers. Instructions are available in the QP User Group Facebook page - if you aren't already a member there, we need to get you on there. Find me on Facebook (Barbara Mayfield/Barbara Jeanne Potter), send me a Friend Request, I'll accept it and get you added. One last question, is your carriage turned on? There's a switch on the back of the carriage that lights up when it is turned on.
  5. Tina, read the reply to the original post - find me on Facebook and I'll get you added.
  6. Something like that, I imagine - we've seen a lot of facebook friends suffer through the same thing! But Mark Caraher is looking into it and will get the bad posts gone!!
  7. I've seen those posts, as well, but I am positive that the folks at APQS are not behind them. I don't know who in the company is responsible for the FB page, but I'm sure they will have the garbage cleared out soon. And you don't need to unfollow APQS, just "hide" the ads you dislike.
  8. Thanks, Jim, for the education! You might want to send that info in to APQS Service, so that they can share correct info with our customers.
  9. It's not shavings off of the wheels (probably) - likely what you're seeing is oxidation from the aluminum carriage, peeling off the wheels and landing below. Your wheels need a thorough cleaning, with LOTS of elbow grease. You can see a buildup of the same oxidation along the edge of the carriage - clean it, as well. Use a piece of batting, moistened with water, scrub well. You should also be wiping down your Bliss rails.
  10. The table and QP in this listing are already sold and living in Oregon (I helped move it!). But there is a 12 foot Bliss table available in Boise, Idaho, and it's a steal! Not sure whether it's listed on this chat, but you can find info on the We Love APQS Facebook page - or you can contact me directly at info@apqsnw.com and I can put you in contact with the seller.
  11. Diane, can you message me through Facebook, please? Then I can tag you and get you guided to the QP group.
  12. They must have changed the connectors since I last disconnected one of these. You can disconnect the ribbon cable, but it might be better to email to service@apqs.com with your problem. They have service techs monitoring those emails, even on the weekend.
  13. You should still deal with APQS Corporate about this, but in the meantime, you can disengage the cutter mechanism for the weekend: turn your entire system off, pop the cover off the back of the thread cutter assembly housing. Once you have the cover off, you should see two molex connectors - white plastic connectors. Disconnect both - that should free up the thread cutter puller arm - that's the arm that swipes under the needleplate, grabs the bobbin thread and carries it between the two cutter blades. Move the puller arm away from the needleplate area. You should be good to quilt until you have a chance to talk to APQS next week!
  14. Here are a couple of responses from our QP users, Michelle: "I am not an expert but think that if the Surface Pro 3 came with QP it should run just fine. I thought I had a Pro 2, however when I looked it says it is a Pro 1, has 4 GB RAM, came with Windows 8, and I upgraded to Windows 10 during the free upgrade period. I do not have other software on the tablet and use it only for QP. I think that more RAM, along with a newer processor, will allow the software to run faster." "Not sure why the Surface wasn’t upgradable, but a faster system is worth it. I jumped from a Pro 2 to a Pro 4 and could definitely see the increase when using the program. So going from Pro 3 to a current Pro would also change the experience."
  15. You can ask here, not sure whether there are any techies that monitor this particular part of the forum. I've posted your questions on the QP forum and tagged three of our resident techies - will let you know what answers I get!
  16. Michelle, I have been using Quilt Path since it first debuted in 2012, on Surface 2, 3, 4 and 5 tablets. There is NO reason that a Surface 3 tablet cannot be upgraded to Windows 10, it's just no longer a FREE upgrade, since the window (excuse the unintended pun!) for the free upgrade is well past - blame Microsoft for that one. Further, while the warranty for QP does not transfer to a new owner, the right to FREE software upgrades DOES transfer. I don't know who told Sue that she would have to pay a "hefty fee" for a software upgrade, it's just not true. And ongoing support for QP, no matter whether under warranty, continues the same. Yes, you have to be a QP owner to be a member of our QP Facebook Group, for the very reason that Sue mentioned - all she saw was problems. What she didn't explain (or perhaps didn't understand) is that, while a lot of "issues" pop up on that Facebook group, it's because it is our go-to platform for helping our owners, usually within minutes of them posting a problem. The overwhelming majority of our owners are happily quilting away and NOT posting on the FB group. While the FB QP Group is limited to owners, the APQS QP Forum here is NOT. Please check in there and discuss your concerns with current QP owners and those in "search" mode like you. You might also join the We Love APQS Facebook group - you can ask questions and speak with real owners there, as there is lots of overlap between that group and the QP group. All that being said, I strongly encourage you to try out both QP and IQ, compare costs and features, and make an educated decision. If you have any questions that I can help with, don't hesitate to email me at info@apqsnw.com.
  17. Peg, if you're not already a member of the Quilt Path User Group on Facebook, we need to get you added - there are resources in that group that will help you with borders and corners in Quilt Path. Find me on Facebook (Barbara Mayfield/Barbara Jeanne Potter), send me a Friend Request, I'll accept it and get you added to the group.
  18. Deb, are you on the QP User Group page on Facebook? If not, we need to get you added. And have you called APQS for QP help? They have someone dedicated to helping our QP owners, just call them and they'll get you going!
  19. APQS still has Demo Quilt Paths available for $8900.
  20. Cyndy, we most often see this when either the carriage hasn't been turned on (red switch at the back of the carriage - lights up when on) or the USB cable hasn't been plugged into the hub or tablet. Andif you haven't been added to our Quilt Path User Group on Facebook, send me a Friend Request (Barbara Mayfield/Barbara Jeanne Potter) and I'll get you added. Lots of help and valuable info there!
  21. Paula Ann, find one of the QP Admins on Facebook: Angela Hugli Clark, Dawn Cavanaugh, Heidi Patterson, or myself. Send one of us a Friend Request. Once we accept it, we'll be able to add you to the Group.
  22. D.J., got to Facebook and find the We Love APQS page - post your problem there and you'll get a lot of specific help, from techs AND from users, including some with IQ. It's a much more immediate response than the forums here. Or you can call APQS Service on the toll-free phone line and they can walk you through diagnosing your problem.
  23. You would be better off going to a Gammill-specific help site, although there are Gammill owners here. You might want to change your topic text to include "Gammill" in it.
  24. I agree with earlier posts - since this was posted here on the Forums, you're going to get answers skewed to the Forums. I will admit that I don't spend much time here on the Forums anymore, just pop in a couple times a day to see if someone needs help. I used to be here constantly. Now, much more of my time is spent on Facebook - partly because that's where I can keep up with family and friends, partly because that's where I can also keep up with customers. But mainly because of the immediacy of the two APQS FB pages - We Love APQS and the QP User Group page. Any post on either of those pages pings immediately to my smartphone and I can usually answer questions there within a few minutes. A question here requires me to open the Forums page, notice the question and then hope that the person seeking help is ALSO actively on the forum. There is definitely a delay in seeking and getting help here, and customer service is my prime concern. Where search functions are concerned, both of those FB pages have a Search box - you just need to put the appropriate terms in the box to get the info you need. If someone needs help doing this, let me know - I am the "queen" of search terms! I'm not saying that the FB groups are better or worse than this Forum, just that FB works better for me and what I need to do. I also hope these Forums stay around for a long, long time! But if you're not getting the help you need here, come visit us on Facebook, too. You might be surprised...
