So it ended up being 2 things!
    1) When you take out the bobbin case, inside there the toe of the hook has to be straight up and seated in the center. There is a screw that holds it in place, which seemed a bit loose. So got it centered and tightened the screw.
    2) The hopping foot was situated too high - not sure how, when or why, but it's lowered now.
    So far, everything is AOK.  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .For Now!
    Thanks everyone!

Please call the Service Department at Grace Co. for help on this - our machines are not that different, but there may be subtle but critical differences in the hook area. We can give you general suggestions but your machine's manufacturer is the proper source for help.

barbm got a reaction from Weeser1 in Is there an app that lets you upload pictures of quilt blocks and then rearrange them on a grid?
I haven't seen a software product to do this specifically, but I would do it the old-fashioned way - print out a photo of my squares, cut them up and move them around, kinda like a puzzle. Once they're in an arrangement that's appealing to me, take another photo, print it and start rearranging my blocks!

Don't feel sheepish, Ida!! We've all been there, in one way or another! But I would strongly recommend that you join our We Love APQS fb group - lots of help there, for those "slap your forehead" kind of days!!

Ida, that silver extension fits into the "eye bolt" at one end of your table. There is a separate large bolt that goes through the "eye bolt" on the other end - it screws into the end of the roller that DOESN'T have the silver extension. If you still have your assembly instructions, you can go to the section for adding the rollers - all the info is there. There is also a silver collar that serves as a spacer between the "eye bolt" and the end of the roller, on the screw-in bolt end. You can get more help - and lots of photos - if you visit the We Love APQS Facebook page and ask for help there.

    Diana,
I was just going to make the same suggestion made by Betsy - join the QP Facebook group. You can post photos and videos and get immediate help. It's a "secret" group, so you'll have to be added, either by your APQS Dealer or one of the group admins - Angela Hugli Clark, Heidi Patterson or myself. Send one of us a Friend Request, along with a photo of your QP setup, and we'll get you added!
In the meantime, check your belt clamps - one of them may have slipped off the belt. And you CAN post photos here - take a look at the bottom of the reply box.

Email me at apqsnw.com and I'll email you the manual I found for the Ult 1. If you're having issues that you can't solve using the manual, don't hesitate to contact APQS Service at service@apqs.com or (800) 426-7255.

Linda, if you'll tell us the serial number of your machine, we can look up the year and get you the proper manual. Or you can join the We Love APQS Facebook group and download the appropriate manual. Email me at info@apqsnw.com and we'll get you going!

Linda, can you use the flywheel to bring the needle back up? It sounds like your needle may be in backwards and is hanging up on the hook.

According to records provided by APQS, 02739 was built in 2003.

Debby, you need to talk to APQS Service before purchasing a used Quilt Path. Depending on the age of your Millie, it might need a circuit board that is just not available, making that Quilt Path unusable with your machine.

    Debra,
It sounds like you may have blown a fuse. First, I'd check that you haven't popped a breaker - plug something that you know works into the plug you have your machine plugged into. If that works, plug your machine in again and check that it still doesn't turn on. There's a document on finding and replacing fuses in the Files Section on the We Love APQS Facebook page. If you're not already a member there, email me at info@apqsnw.com and I'll send it to you.

barbm got a reaction from dbams in Bottom thread isn’t right and I don’t know how to correct it.
If possible, post photos of your top thread path, from the cone all the way to the needle, everywhere the thread touches the machine. Looks like the top thread has popped out of the tension assembly or one of the thread guides - or it needs to be tightened a LOT!

barbm got a reaction from dbams in Missed stitches on top , help
Jo, the first thing you need to do is determine if this is a problem just side-to-side, just front-to-back, or all directions.  That will help narrow down which stitch encoder is having issues.

Next, you need to figure out whether you are getting "missed" stitches or "long" stitches: missed stitches are the result of the needle going down through the fabric but not making the stitch with the bobbin thread - you will see needle holes underneath the line of stitching.  Long stitches are usually a result of an encoder wheel not making proper contact with the machine wheel, so that your Millie doesn't know that you are moving it, so it doesn't even try to make that stitch.

Once you've figured out these two things, get back on here and we'll help you figure out the solution!

Give APQS Service a call, Sheri - even though your machine isn't under warranty, they will still help you figure out what the issue is and how to fix it.

You should be able to adjust your M&M wheels so that you have a nice smooth ride. I've added a post from a much earlier thread that may help you to properly adjust your wheels.  It may also be that you have one or more wheels that have bad bearings - call Amy at APQS Service, she can help you figure that one out.  You should NOT have this much trouble moving your machine!  And never feel like you are bothering anyone here - that's what this forum is for.

Stan, the biggest advantage to our Facebook pages is the fact that those of us who follow the various groups get instant notifications that someone needs help. These forums have to be checked periodically, which can sometimes fall through the cracks. And even if we see and respond to a post, the user might not see our response for some time. On Facebook, our interaction can be in real time - and is a searchable resource for other users. Yes, these forums are a similar resource and are searchable, but they don't feed past users' eyes, where someone might say, "Wait, that's just like what I experienced!"
