If you go to Facebook and search for the "We Love APQS" group, there's a Millie/Freddie manual in the Files Section.

Probably a little light for motorcycle chain but definitely bicycle chain and cables.
Tri-Flow superior is commonly used in the vintage sewing machine community.  It is a very light viscosity oil that also helps soften up and flush out the years old oil that has turned to gum. It would work fine in our machines but my understanding is the PTFE will not pass through the wicks.  So since you need the regular sewing machine oil for the wicks, why bother having two products when one will do.  Now if I was servicing one of our machines that had been sitting for a few years I wouldn’t hesitate to take off the side cover and give the mechanicals a good soaking with Tri-Flow.

You should be able to open the files on the flashdrive.  But here's the chapter on cleaning and oiling your machine.

IMHO, when they changed the forums, several years back, it got MUCH harder to post photos and follow threads - we lost a lot of followers at that point. I know there are those who will NEVER be on Facebook, but FB doesn't have the restrictions that this forum has - and those of us trying to help customers on the various APQS pages get instant notifications when someone needs help, instead of needing to check in here several times a day (although I try to do that anyway!). I love Facebook for the ability to follow my family, both close and extended, and the ability to help my customers quickly, easily, with links to files and photos.
If you don't do Facebook, then it's up to you - and the rest of you that don't do FB - to make this the forum that you want!

I've seen those posts, as well, but I am positive that the folks at APQS are not behind them. I don't know who in the company is responsible for the FB page, but I'm sure they will have the garbage cleared out soon. And you don't need to unfollow APQS, just "hide" the ads you dislike.

Good points, but a couple of hints. You can remove the front take-up roller if you exclusively float your quilts. It won't enlarge your stitching field, which is set by the frame configuration. You won't be able to stitch any closer to you than you do now. But it may mean easier access since you don't have to lean over the roller.  Micro-drive handles are available for APQS machines. They are helpful for  microstitching and control. They attach below the regular handles, which are loosened and pushed up out of the way. The micro-handles can then be used for ruler work and they independently pivot up out of the way, so you can stitch using one handle. They keep your hands very close to the top. The down-side is not ready/easy access to your controls, but in SR mode, it's not an issue. I suppose it's all about what you get used to and how easy a work-around is for perceived issues. I baste in manual with speed slow and head moving so I make 1/4" stitches. Or if I'm basting the sides, SR on and longest stitches.  APQS innovates all the time, so maybe your wish-list will eventually be a reality.

You would be better off going to a Gammill-specific help site, although there are Gammill owners here. You might want to change your topic text to include "Gammill" in it.

That is indeed the number! And you may call them at any time, as the owner (no matter how many) of an APQS machine. They will support you indefinitely, you just won't get any free parts. And they have much more expertise on the older models than those of us out in the field who may see them once a year.

Yay!! Glad you figured it out, Deb! And if you do Facebook, you should check out We Love APQS. one of our pages there. It might be faster to get help there.

barbm got a reaction from quiltmonkey in FORUMS OR FACEBOOK CURIOUS
I agree with earlier posts - since this was posted here on the Forums, you're going to get answers skewed to the Forums. I will admit that I don't spend much time here on the Forums anymore, just pop in a couple times a day to see if someone needs help. I used to be here constantly. Now, much more of my time is spent on Facebook - partly because that's where I can keep up with family and friends, partly because that's where I can also keep up with customers. But mainly because of the immediacy of the two APQS FB pages - We Love APQS and the QP User Group page. Any post on either of those pages pings immediately to my smartphone and I can usually answer questions there within a few minutes. A question here requires me to open the Forums page, notice the question and then hope that the person seeking help is ALSO actively on the forum. There is definitely a delay in seeking and getting help here, and customer service is my prime concern.
Where search functions are concerned, both of those FB pages have a Search box - you just need to put the appropriate terms in the box to get the info you need. If someone needs help doing this, let me know - I am the "queen" of search terms!
I'm not saying that the FB groups are better or worse than this Forum, just that FB works better for me and what I need to do. I also hope these Forums stay around for a long, long time! But if you're not getting the help you need here, come visit us on Facebook, too. You might be surprised...

If you are looking for an excellent longarm machine, APQS is the one.  If you  are looking for support for the APQS you'll never find a more professionally knowledgeable, fun, committed, patient APQS representative then Connie Keller.  Her classes are excellent.  When you rent a machine she, Anne and Jed provide the support and direction you need to learn and feel confident.   It is obvious that the three of them all love their work and the people they serve with passion and caring.  Your search for quality in the machine and support is over.   Connie helped me find the perfect machine for me.  She and Jed set it up in my home and provided ongoing support.  I can't thank you enough, Ms. Connie!!  Anne!! And Jed!!

barbm reacted to QuiltGuy in Love APQS Customer Service!
I haven't been around here for a few years, life got really busy, but we are planning to move our 2013 Millie (14' table) to Tucson (eventually) with a stay in storage for a while. I called to ask some questions about moving the machine and got a rapid call back and great help (and answers to other questions as well). I know we all know how great APQS customer service is, but I know when I was deciding on a machine I read the forums here and looked for reports regarding customer service so I wanted to make a newer post for others to find. This company is really great!
    Thanks Mark and APQS!
