  1. Occasionally when I am quilting along, my millie suddenly races for a second or two making tiny stitches.  It scares me to death as I am usually using a ruler and have my hands down near the hopping foot.  I tried blowing out the carbon in the area around the motor under the hood, I've tried using a humidifier incase it is static electricity build up, but don't know what else I can do...

Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to fix it?  It has me nervous while I am quilting....

  2. I wish I could find one that doesn't leak water, the only way to do that is to not use the steam in your iron and keep it dry...I have an oliso also that I love but it started to leak water after about 6 months, so I don't think one exists that does not leak...I've tried them all...but on the other hand if you don't use water it is a good iron.

  3. I concur with everyone who says "Quilt them!"  I would bet whoever pieced them would be so excited to see them finally finished and it would blow them away to see how cool a longarm machine is...and how quickly it can finish quilts now as opposed to 100 years ago!  They would be much more valuable and appreciated if they were quilted, and I would try to stick to a quilting pattern that would have been done for that time period.  A challenge would be to do it with a continuous quilting seam.  I also agree with  "put a label on them telling what you know about them"  someone someday will be so appreciative of that!

  4. Hi Dell,

What a cute quilt!  I am thinking I would do something like a small stipple or a background that you like to do in the white and gold areas to keep them the same and push those backgrounds back, I would either do crosshatching or feathers in the blue triangles I know they are dark but it would give them a good texture...

    does that help?
