Dear Rita, I used to work all the time making things for loved ones. I thought these quilted gifts would be apreciated. Well I was told ONCE I want curtains not a blanket for a wedding present, needless to say I do not give quilted gifts anymore unless in very special ocasions when asked.
I am  also confined a lot with Lupus disabilaty. We are a forgotten group. I feel most of the people I know do not understand how I feel (you cannot see pain) therefore do not know how to deal with it so it is not addressed. We are then kind of forgotten. My family does not even invite me to family functions, or send pictures stories just kind of like an invisable person. I now sell my quilts they are loved by the people who purchase them. and I get my fix via that chanel. God Bless!

Lupus, RA, OA, and Asma have slowed anything I have done lately, Hospital twice in the last 6 months. Quilting and piecing a quilt just plain take me out of the pain and into another place with  my thoughts. Reduces the depression and gets my creative juices going just wonderful. Try not to let the pain get to you. Live the life using your God given talent and your days will be filled with something other than pain./

I live in Austin and am praying for money. Unfortunately the only bills I get are the outgoing type. Maybe today my ship will come in.
Want this machine in the worst way.

Just one more comment, you have probably heard everything is big in Texas. Quilting is the biggest and wonderful. I have lived in Austin for 12 years. What a bunch of wonderful people the quilters are down here. I moved from Indiana in 2000. Havent had time to think back.

You will love quilting in Texas!

I have an ult II and this is a better machine than it ever gets rated. I just had a spa on mine and it runs like new. My machine is probably 20 years old. I cried when the thought of selling my machine for a new one crossed my mind. You hang in there who ever gets your machine is getting a bargain. Do not lower your price come back to what you originally wanted it is worth every penny.

Not sure this is the right title, I like to vent sometimes without reply! Has this ever happened to you? I am telling that i have a thread mess around my sewing machine and it irratates me. Now my friend replies now" Ginny you need to do as I do". That is not the depressing answer I want to hear. I want to hear just a simple "that happens to me also sometimes" NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I get a 15 min discourse on organization. At the end confusion has set in.

DW has a policy of only making quilts from start to finish. She does not take in quilt tops for quilting. Well she made a quilt for a lady that was giving as a gift for her daughter. She delivered the finished quilt to customer and she loved it. Customer asked DW to look at this finished quilt she picked up at a thrift shop and would she add another back and quilt with a panto. DW felt sorry for this lady, Christmas and all, and said ok. I didn't think about it because of the holidays and DW asked me to help her today with the quilt. OMG this quilt was pieces of upholstery fabric sewn together, piecing was awful, it was wonky, i mean WONKY. Well it got done, I put a 5.0 needle in the Liberty to help with thick the fabric and seams. I reminded DW why we don't take in quilts to quilt and she agreed. I hope the customer is happy.

ginnysnowden reacted in Washing Machine & Dryer??
I have the Whirlpool Duet Sport washer and dryer. The washer is a front-loader and can handle a commercial queen-size comforter (poofy), possibly even a king size. While it operates on very little water, like most front loaders, it does have a soak cycle, and while it doesn't fill with a lot of water, I've been able to soak the blue marks out of a queen-sized quilt with it. With no agitator, it doesn't beat quilts or clothes to death, and the spin cycle gets out so much water that the dryer doesn't have to run long to get the clothes dry. I bought the pair at Costco about four years ago and I still love them.
