Sharond got a reaction from tas1949 in Needle up/down slow???
I had the same problem on my first Millie. I met Dawn C. at Quilting in the Waterfront in August of '06. Dawn was so nice, she drew the machine and showed how to fix this problem. I still have her instructions and drawing she did. When I got home and did what she said, it took care of the problem. I had to do this once or twice a year.
It is great to have such awesome support from the staff at APQS!

Another customer quilt is done. She pieced this using gorgeous batiks. In the center of each block she asked me to quilt a hibiscus flower, a little hard to see with the fabrics. You can see it better in the picture of the back. I did piano key quilting in the border, circles in the skinny border, elongated diamonds in the purple sashing, continuous curves in the large printed triangles and the small cream triangles.

Misa3, it is all hand guided. I do have Quilt Path, but did not use it on this quilt.

A friend asked me to quilt her pink and brown quilt.  I don't remember the pattern name, but I think it is by Darlene Zimmerman.  She wanted light quilting since she wanted to use it on her bed.  Light quilting is hard for me.  I'm used to quilting every square inch.  LOL
but I cold get use to "light" quilting.  Included before and after photos.  I used SoFine thread, brown, cream and pink.  Quilters Dream 100 % cotton batting, 1 layer.  Quilted onmy Millie. Ruler work and freehand.

Sharond reacted to Bonnie in new fuses, no power
are you sure you got the fuse in correctly....  I had one person call and they actually had put the fuse back into the draw area of the cord instead of the correct place...therefor not getting any power.  also check to see if the fuse is actually a good fuse,. They do break easily and still look okay.  Have gotten several from Radio Shack with the wire broken inside.

I finally put my Swoon quilt (Thimble Blossoms) on Freeda - my most ambitious quilting to date  Continuous Curves in the swoon block; Curved crosshatching and feathers in white areas . . . I used the leftovers from making all those HSTs to make a pinwheel border.  I used two layers of batting - Hobbs Wool on top; Hobbs 80/20 underneath; Glide thread; Lisa Calle's ProEcho Rulers.

    Janice,
I had the same issue with mine when I first got the machine that I have. I took the brake off the machine, used Goo-Gone to remove any of the residual sticky from the where the Velcro had been. Then I used rubbing alcohol to make sure it was clean and reapplied the Velcro. I have not had anymore issues with the Velcro.
You can also tighten the brake lever. You will need an allen wrench, and with the blue handle straight out from the brake, not locked, hold on to the handle and tighten the screw underneath the handle with your allen wrench.
    Good luck!

Sharond reacted to Sheagatzi in A modern quilt for my bed
I call myself the 'cobbler with no shoes'  because I quilt for everyone else except me!
So my goal was to make a quilt for our new house,   our new bed....

I wanted calm neutral colours reminding me of sand or pebbles.....I made this quilt  using the pattern "Sweet Garden" from Carolina Patchworks.    I was intending to make the entire king size with this pattern -  and I did.  Then I hated it, so I chopped 2/3s of the pattern off and added white for some neutral breathing space.

Simple quilting in between the blocks.
And then I got carried away in the white.     [

Sharond reacted to RoseCity Quilter in Roger's Inverted Prismatic Star
I quilted my 1st quilt on my new Milli! It was one made by my hubby, Roger. He used a pattern from Judy Niemeyer, only he turned the final four quadrants so the star was not in the middle, leaving me lots of negative space to quilt....I will admit at 1st I was very intimidated, but after a little planning my mojo came back and I had fun with it! Appropriate to have fun on the 1st quilt of a new machine!
