    Hey everyone!!
It's been forever since I've posted here... I can't believe how much has happened in the last couple years. I am so happy with my APQS machines.
I use Millie for all my customer quilts and Lenni every single day to record a free motion quilting video to post on my Facebook page. I've posted over 230 videos so far and love reading the comments from quilters all over the world.
If you ever need some inspiration, swing on over to my Facebook page and check out my videos. I would love your feedback.
I took the first hundred designs and turned them into a book which just launched last week.
I am so happy to be part of the APQS family!!

Do not forget to mention your YouTube videos for those of us who do not do Facebook.  I for one have enjoyed your videos there.  That being said, do you have an electronic version of your new book?  I for one like to take my quilting books with me when I travel, so I can practice the designs when I have free time.

Hi everyone, I am a new APQS Millennium Owner and am in the middle of a three day LongArm Quilting Bootcamp with my APQS Rep. Tracey Gardner Russell. I am learning lots of new skills and am loving the Millie. I purchased the machine in May, took delivery at the end of June and never unpacked my boxes until the middle,of August as we moved from Southern Ontario to the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia.

Bonnie, I work part time for a Janome dealer. If you are not using the Janome needles then use Schmetz. That is what we sell. I also own the 6500 and I love it. The schmetz needles are really good.

Tracey reacted to ffq-lar in Wonky lines
Sharon, for darks I use a Bohin white mechanical pencil (the same product as the Fons and Porter white pencil). For light fabric I use the purple air-erase marker---either Dritz or Collins. If the lines are close together I make sure I use a new purple marker so I get a thin line.
White removes with heat or water with abrasion. (I never use an iron on customer quilts.) The purple will go away but where I live it may take a week. So I use a water-dispensing pen to run along the lines and help them along.

Tracey reacted to ffq-lar in Continuous Curve Tool
When I need a template for CC's I use a Quilter's Rule set of nested templates called Dragon Scales. Four different-sized templates which have one outside curve and two inside curves--- they look like a clamshell. What makes them especially easy is you can stitch the left side CC and the bottom CC with the outside curve and then the top and right side CCs with the inside curve. This allows you to use the template always in your left hand and to the left or bottom of the hopping foot. No awkward above-the-foot or on the right side stitching.

I didn't even think the whole time had gone by…lots of little tips on needle types (topstitch was their recommendation) as well as what to look for in metallics to make sure you "got a good one" to tension settings etc…designed for a broad audience of sewers, not just longarmers but I found it really interesting…many may know all of this, but I feel like I learned a lot!
