Waiting on my phone call.  I told God that if I won the machine it would be a sign to me that he wants me to quit my day job and retire into the quilting business.  who knows, If God wants me to do that then I am sure he will make it happen.  Lots of best wishes to everyone.  I hope the winner is very happy!!

I wish I'd known I could have paper pieced instead of buying the rulers.  I enjoy paper piecing.
But to late now I'm all caught up, yeah!

I bought this quilt top on Ebay this summer.  Great price, felt guilty about the price i did pay, was worth more...it was pieced very nicely.  But, when it came I felt the floral was to big in scale, so i tried to bring out the linear lines in the quilt.  Got to use my ruler and apply some of what I have learned on this forum.  Flannel backed.  It is not perfect, but at first look it is pretty.  And what a great practice piece.

This quilt traveled to Okinawa for my daughter in-law.  I did a free motion paisley.  I learned on pinwheels, you do have to be careful how you put them together....at least consistent if you don't want color touching....  It was great practice for Lenni and me.

IBQLTN2 reacted to InesR in Grateful and Love this quilt
This quilt is my most difficult/challenging that Lenni and I have attempted so far.  I started with a bargain layer cake from ebay, that blossomed into searching for coordinating fabric (at not such a bargain) and using the pattern "Go Tell it on the Mountain" that I  found on Moda Bake Shop.  (Wish I could give you a link, but that is beyond my skill set at this time...)  Back to my quilt, this shows just how much I learned from this forum.  I did cross hatching that radiates from the center block out to the four corners.  I also mirrored my stitching from the pieced mountain to the setting blocks below.  Did a piano key border (which I like the look, liked doing) and a couple fills.  And I marked, measured and tore out.... ")
This was also the biggest I have ever done.  94X94.
I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for this forum.  I wouldn't have such a nice quilt in my stash if it wasn't for all the encouragement, sharing and tips that are posted here.

Do need to bind the monster yet.....on vacation this week, might get her done.....:)

Carmen this is my first mystery quilt also.  And beyond that I don't do well with scrappy quilts.  I find doing scrappy is just to hard for my little pea brain. I've even tried the paper sack trick where you put all your pieces in a sack and what ever two pieces you pull out you have to sew together.  But it didn't work for me, I cheated, I kept putting them back in and pulling out different pieces. That quilt took forever to finish.  I like to look at other peoples but I don't enjoy doing them myself.  So this is a big deal to me.  I think the "mystery" part is the only reason I'm able to do the scrappy part.
So I'm  caught up with last week.  And I'm hopeful to be caught up completely by Friday's 3th clue.
    Have a Joyous Day Quilting!
