Just off my quilt frame this week, "Surf Song" bargello.  From the book Twist and Turn Bargello Quilts by Eileen Wright.  Needed a king size quilt for my bed and instead of adding borders to make a king sized "Surf Song" I kept building the bargello to the edges.  I quilted it with IQ and the panto Ripples by Lorien Quilting.  I will make coordinating batik pillowcases and of course still need to bind the beast!!

Just finished my 2nd custom quilt with IQ.  It is Deck the Halls by Claudia's Creations.  The redwork is done with the Deck the Halls machine embroidery CD, The quilting is all done by IQ.  I had this posted in Computer Aided Quilting but Gator thought I should post it here too so more people would see it.  I added IQ in July 2016 and am loving it so far!  I learned so much on this quilt but don't get much time to quilt on my own stuff, and do mostly panto's for customers, so I hope I can retain some of what I learned by the time I get to custom quilt again!
    Thanks for looking!

Just finished my 2nd custom quilt using IQ.  I have had my IQ since July 2016 and have been doing panto's for the most part as that is what I do for customers.  This quilt is called Deck the Halls and it is designed by Claudia's Creations.  I did the redwork with Claudia's machine embroidery CD and I used my stash of Sentiments by Moda for the pieced blocks.  I did all of the quilting with IQ.  I learned so much that my head hurts!!  and I hope I can remember it all by the time I do my next custom quilt.

I say, if you want it and can afford it, go for it!  This is something that would give you pleasure and you deserve it, whether you are going to quilt for others or not.  As far as whether or not to sell the IQ with it and get a new one, I think I would just transfer the IQ you have if you have the version you want and the newer motors.  Just about any of our husband's toys these days can cost up to 80,000 whether its a boat or a camper or a pickup and they deserve to enjoy too.  What have we all worked for!

I really like this forum.  I have learned so much from all of you and continue to learn!  I have been frustrated with yahoo forums due to them getting hacked so much, so am a little leery of those.  I got started on FB before an all school reunion and it is great to get in touch with old friends, but it can be overwhelming to keep up with.  I really do enjoy the specific FB forums I have joined.  Am kind of re-obsessed with Singer Featherweights, (I'm currently experiencing a second Featherweight frenzy), and I check in with an IQ FB forum quite often.  It's almost too much, all of the information out there now.  Mary Beth, I'll be checking out  your page!

I had a very good customer ask if I would donate quilting on a quilt of valor quilt she was doing for her guild.  She also had one for her brother who is a veteran which she expected to pay me for, but I donated that one too.  She was tickled and so was I.  I like to contribute once in a while.

Thanks so much.  The quilt is 114 x 100.  I wanted it big enough to drape on the sides and also to allow a little for shrinkage when it gets washed.   I did preshrink my Hobbs cotton batting but did not preshrink the batiks so we'll see how that goes someday...
And Cagey, something that goes with my green walls was just what I was going for.  The wall color is called pale opal and I love it, but it Is not the easiest color to find coordinates for, even with all the fabric out there in the world.  Isn't it amazing how many colors of a color there are??
I love the movement on this quilt pattern, too.  I live by a huge lake and I was thinking of water with a little sand and grass when choosing my colors.  My husband's response when he saw it on the bed the first time was "it's crooked."  See what I deal with in my life everyday?  Gotta love'em.

Thanks again everybody.  Just a note, the quilt was actually 114 1/4 x 100 before quilting and after quilting it is 112 x 98 1/2.  I figured it would shrink up a bit with the quilting.  The "Ripples" panto was a medium to large density pattern.  100% cotton batting (preshrunk).
Now that I have made it king sized the hard way, I know how I could have done it a lot easier, so Betsy if you need to make a king size and don't want to do it by adding borders, give me a holler.
