  1. Beautiful quilting. How nice to be so appreciated for your work. What a great customer. Congrats.
  2. Shannon, you cease to amaze me. I may actually try that on a real one!
  3. I too wish to welcome all the newbies. As I'm sure you have learned by now, this is the place to be!!! No one discriminates here!!! Cathy, I grew up in Covington. My family stilll lives in the area. My daughter is a senior at Tulane. I got my nursing degree in Hammond at SLU. I haven't lived in La. for a long time but always consider it my home. So Cathy, Judy, Anya and anyone else new, welcome to the best forum on the net, IMHO!!!
  4. Thanks Kristina and Heidi, I was confused about the difference. I like working from the front of the machine as well. I'm short and even when my Millie is as low as she can go, I can't see anything from the back. I'm interested in the QZ. I think my first big purchase will be the edgerider wheels and then the QZ. Thanks for the info.
  5. Heidi, if I remember correctly you have the Topper and the QZ. What is the difference?
  6. Kristina, beautiful job!! Do you also have the Topper? What is the difference between the two?
  7. My heart breaks for you and your family and his family. I hope God will sustain you and hold you in the palm of His hand.
  8. Just found my copy. Wow. That is beautiful!!! Congrates to Matt!!!
  9. OMG!! That thing is HUGE:D:D:D Sure looks fun. Where is your shop? Would love to see it work. I love doing embroidery on my domestic machine so I can't imagine what that would do. Congrats on your new toy.
  10. So sorry to hear of the loss of you mom. Try to take care of yourself and your dad. It takes time to heal and she will always be missed. It doesn't matter how old we are when we lose our mother. It is a traumatic loss. Don't think you can just go on like nothing has happened. You have to give yourself time to grieve. Also know that we all grieve differently. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Do what you need to do for yourself. Hugs to you and your father. I pray for strength and know that God is with you to comfort you.
  11. I am also sending prayers for Marcus and your family. So sorry to hear of this. May you be comforted and strengthend during this trial.
  12. Welcome to the group Brenda. Have a great time at the Road Show!
  13. Thanks for the info Georgene. I'm going to look into that player. Claudia's DVD is fantastic!! I love it. I really want to watch it on the "big screen"
  14. I love my DVD but it doesn't play on my DVD player either. Plays fine on the computer but I also wanted to watch on my HDTV. I also have a new player but it still won't work. I'm going to see if my DH can hook my laptop up to the HDTV.
  15. OMG Shannon. That is hysterical:P:P:P Lucky you have Davis to come to the rescue;) My DH is like Davis in that he can fix anything. We joke that he can fix a rainy day;) Thanks for the morning giggle.
  16. Melora, can you post a picture of your quilt so I can get an idea of how to stitch the large 8x10? Also, what batting do ya'll recommend? I had planned on using Warm and White but will change if it would be better. Thanks for the info.
  17. Lib, I'm so sorry to hear of the tragic loss of your daughter. Please know we are all praying for you and your family. Do take time for yourself. A broken heart takes time to heal. I pray that you will be able to focus on the wonderful memories you have of her. Take care of yourself. Again, I'm so sorry...
  18. I recieved my copy and have watched most of it. Got tired and had turn in since I get up for work at 0500. Love it. OMG, if you haven't ordered one yet, this is one of the best informational DVD I've seen!!! Wow, I think with PPP, I may really be able to do it. I could not get it to play in my dvd player but no problems with the computer. I would love to watch it on my big screen... Oh, well... Still love, love, love it:):) Thanks Claudia. Great Job!
  19. Thanks Bonnie for the info on Shannon. I pray the waters recede and she doesn't have any damage. Glad to know she and Davis are ok.
  20. Thanks for the feedback. I'll check on the batting. The pictures are all 4X6 except for 1 which is 8x10. I sure don't want the pictures pealing off!!;) That would be a disaster! Thanks for the link to your webshot Liam. That helps tremendously.
  21. So sorry to hear of your mum's passing. What a blessing to be able to help care for her as she cared for you. It is a very hard thing to go through. I lost my mom when I was pregnant with my first child and my father right after I had my second. It was a blessing and a privledge to care for them when they each became terminally ill. Losing them was difficult but I can't imagine if I had lost them quickly. They both had cancer. At least I was able to help them and know that they went peacefully as well. Hugs to you and your family. The days ahead will be hard but rely on the Lord to strengthen
  22. I agree with all the great advise. Also, you will receive many blessings for taking such good care of your mother. I took care of mine until she left this earth. Didn't regret a minute of it. I was the one who recieved the blessings! Bless you and know that no one will take as good of care as you will.
  23. When quilting memory quilts, do I quilt through the pics or just SID around them. All I have around them are "frames" of black fabric and some small sashings. I have 25 pics in a small lap quilt. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
