  1. If this still hasn't helped, call APQS. There are adjustments they can walk you through to adjust the stitches.
  2. Hello Everyone! It's been quite a while since I've been on the forum. Busy with life, family illnesses, new grandbabies, etc. I have a customer's Judy Neimeyer Captain's Wheel quilt on my frame, but not quite sure what I want to quilt. I've searched on Pinterest, but there's just not a lot of photos. Has anyone quilted one of these and have photos to share?
  3. Hey Fellow Longarmers! I've been MIA for some time now, but Still Quilting! I've had a couple of grandbabies, family members' illnesses and deaths, and you know...life in general. I have also been cleaning and decluttering my quilt quilting studio. I have a Quilt Topper Tool circle maker with a star board and two feather wreath boards that I would love to part with. The base fits a Milli machine. It's yours for the cost of shipping. I bought it used when I first started quilting, but do mostly heirloom custom quilting and don't and won't use it. Please take this off my hands, or should I say, out of my studio. Have a great day! Debbie
  4. Wow! I bet it will win a ribbon. Just enter it into a few more shows!
  5. Fabulous Quilt! I usually enjoy quilting these because I know I will never piece one for myself. I applaud your ability to do both...piece and quilt.
  6. Yes, I have a millie. I used it once when I first started quilting, but I do mostly custom heirloom quilting, and it's just been sitting in my quilting studio. I will sell it cheap!
  7. Hello Everyone! I'm still quilting and been so busy I haven't been on the forum in quite a while. I still have this Topper tool for sale. I've been cleaning my studio and would like to find a home for this. Please let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Debbie
  8. I love the forum. When I began my quilting journey with my longarm, I looked at it daily and spent much time reading posts, studying pics. As my quilting abilities developed I began posting pics to get feedback. As I've become busier, it's more difficult to take pics and post. I need to get better about doing that again. I've not really ever looked into FB quilt groups though. Our guild has a member's only FB and that's good for keeping up with what others are doing...but many just post cutesy type quilting photo sayings, etc. I've noticed that others have not posted as many pics too...I just suppose we're all alike like in that we all have things we're involved with other than quilting. Here's mine...my 6 month old granddaughter Raylee.
  9. Thanks Linda. I didn't get any instructions with it. I do have the wheel, one star and two wreath boards.
  10. I suggest you go to topperquilttool.com and send a message and see if the one for the millie, which is the model of longarm I have, also fits the Lenni.  There may be some part you would have to buy for attaching it that's different from the millie.

  11. It's called the Topper and can be found on www.topperquilttools.com (for pics of what it looks like). I don't remember who I bought it from, but I'm thinking it was from someone on the forum years ago. Almost all of my quilting for customers is heirloom type and I've just never used this like I though I would.
  12. I bought a quilt topper tool used when I first started longarm quilting. I've only used it once and don't think I'll use it enough to justify the space it's taking up in my studio. It came with a star template and 2 different size feather wreath templates. I've been on a "decluttering" mission this past year and am only keeping things I use often. I'd love for it to be of use to someone. $50 plus shipping. Let me know if you're interested. Debbie
  13. I would not be without motorized advance! I quilt a ton,,,well, let's just say lots of large quilts and mostly custom quilting. If I had to manually lock and unlock wheels and levers to advance or back up a quilt on the frame it would be a real pain. I've thought the hydraulic lift would be a nice feature but for me the motorized advance is worth it's weight in gold. I have an APQS Millennium. The only other model I would consider would be the innova because it seems their field of vision, being able to see greater quilting area behind the hopping foot, is greater than on the millie. I have to agree with JMErickson's comments about the horizontal wheels. I've worn out several bearings. My husband says that the weight of the machine is born mainly along the wheels that run the length of the table and those bearings should be in a vertical position to bear the weight without wearing out instead of horizontal. If you might eventually quilt for the public, I would invest some money and rent some time on different machines to find out which fits you best. There will be a learning curve to longarm quilting. It is true that when quilting you tend to work directly in front of you, but there are times when stitching out big circles that I need the whole 24 inches of the larger head and do some quilting further away from my body, otherwise I would be having to advance and back up the quilt more frequently on the frame. I also have the 14 foot frame and have filled it completely with some large quilts. Good luck with your search.
  14. Your quilting in the white areas is very original! I like it! So, do you have something else you can put on your bed when you enter this into a quilt show?
  15. It looks wonderful! You've got your own fabric store too!. I'm curious...how deep is the area that holds fabric above your long countertop where you have quilts hanging ready to quilt?
  16. Wow, You do have a lot of stuff! But it is so well organized! I need to tweak my studio a little, but right now I'm swamped getting ready for our guild's quilt show . I really like your work table in the center and the storage under your machine.
  17. Brenda Shreve is an APQS dealer who is located in Ramona, just north of Tulsa. I know she has a quilt shop, but don't know if she deals with used machines.
  18. I recently quilted some antique quilt tops that a customer had purchased from estate sales. One was also a double wedding ring with a solid gold background fabric. That background fabric seems somewhat "brittle" because I had to pick out a small area and I could see where the threads in the fabric actually broke where the needle went through. The quilt looked great though, and I was careful to decide on a design before I quilted any more.
  19. I love metro, and use it all the time in bobbin and needle. I recently ordered a few spools of the sigma, but have not yet used them.
  20. My suggestion is to actually rent some time on any type of longarm and actually quilt a quilt on it. Have someone show you how to use a template as well. For me, test driving is not the same as actually working on a real quilt. By then you will better be able to judge how each machine handles and decide which features may or may not be important to you. For me, quilting on a longarm is much different (but much easier) that using a regular machine. Better to be sure on a new purchase than to second guess yourself. I'm happy with my Millie. The motorized advance is definitely worth the $ what ever model you are looking at. I especially like the ease with which you can move the quilt forwards and backwards on the MIllie.;
