Why do I always have a long story behind everything?!
Here it is. I made this quilt for my ex-husband's cousin's husband. So forget my ex-husband. My friend's names are Chris and Michelle. Michelle was my cousin for 8 years, but has been my friend for 39 years. I was there when Chris and Michelle started dating when they were in high school. After my divorce, Michelle's mom and dad wanted to keep me. I just divorced Randy, not the family. So anyway, Chris has been batting colon cancer for 4 years. This is the same cancer that took my sister's life. I wanted to do something, but up until now all I could think to do was pray for Chris. This week I decided I needed to make him a quilt. Since he is an avid Kansas City Royals fan, it was easy to figure out. I kind of threw something together and use the Circle Lord Egyptian Eye.

I cannot take credit for these quilts. I bought the quilt tops, I did not piece them. I wish I had. Now Sheri Butler thinks I can sew. Anyway, I mailed these quilt tops to Sheri Butler after I sold my machine. I distinctly told her not to do anything special. I was thinking since I didn't make them, there was no real attachment. There is now!!! So anyway, we are entering these too quilts into UQSM (formerly HMQS).

This one is a vintage quilt. I purchased the top from craigslist. They lady that purchased it had passed away and her husband was selling some of her things.

This one is a baby quilt. I purchased the top from a quilt shop that went out of business in Liberty, MO.

My favorite machine ever is a vintage Singer 301. A little larger than a Featherweight, I think it is 17 pounds. It stiches way faster than the Featherweight. I sold 2 Featherweights and now have 5 301s.

Well actually I will be with our horses and stagecoach. There is a gathering of stagecoach enthusiasts there as well as some things planned at Tubac.

We have decided that it was time for a redo. We tore out a bar that was along 2 walls, about 15 feet long. Started ripping off paneling. Putting up sheet rock. We are moving equipment all the time, but we are getting there.

Wow!! We just never forget. Lol. I remember the panic in my mind wondering how the EMTs would get my body half way out of the attic/garage, and place me gently on the gerney. Lol. There is still a hole, and the sheetrock that I tried to put back. Oh boy....them were the days.

Several years ago, when MQS was here in Overland Park, KS, the APQS chat people decided to meet. I set up a table with a big sign. We all decided to wear APQS blue ribbons to identify ourselves. That was 11 years or so ago (wow, that is crazy), and we have some lifelong friendships because of it. I highly recommend getting together no matter which model you own.

On another note you might want to check out the Circle Lord items too.  Just google Circle Lord.  Sometimes you can find used Hartley Fence and Circle Lord items here on the forum.

Looking good, you have an outside door?  A new Millie will be sexy in the new space.  However, I found that no matter how big our studios are, we could always use more square footage.  Is the ladder sign for you, lol.  I think I remember someone falling through the attic?

Isn't it exciting?!!!!  Oddly enough, we are doing the same thing at our house.  I feel your pain!  Although ours is only paint and flooring, but it's the entire basement level.  I'm so excited be rid of ancient carpet and green walls and have an opportunity to reorganize my sewing room.  We've been in our house over 10 years so it's long overdue.  Purging as we go.  It's going to be awesome!
