Farmland Quilter got a reaction from Reetmomma in Hospital Nursery Quilt Requirements
I would suggest Quilter's Dream Angel batting. Please read the following article on batting safety from IMQA http://www.imqa.org/media/uploads/2011/11/17/files/BattingArticleFall2011_1.pdf
"At this time (fall 2011) Quilter's Dream offers the only batting marked as flame retardant. It contains no chemical additives and will remain flame retardant after repeated washings. This batting also meets independent laboratory, international standards and the new Draft CAL 604 law."

Farmland Quilter got a reaction from Lemon Tree Tami in Elephant quilt, Knot a Rainbow quilt, and a disaster
I have some local longarmers that I refer clients to when they desire quilting that is above my skill set or physical abilities. I would rather send them somewhere else than do a bad job. You did the right thing.

Farmland Quilter got a reaction from CrazyAboutQuilting in APQS support is great!
My needle was slamming down and staying down in the middle of quilting. Called APQS and they got back to me the same day and Amy overnighted a part. It didn't fix the problem and they again and Brenda overnighted me a different part. The instructions to install the parts had great pictures and instructions. We installed both parts with no problems. So far ... So good. Hope our problem is solved but watching things stitch out on IQ like a hawk!

Farmland Quilter reacted to zeke in Help !!! Needle goes down!!
My UI does this every so often, but it's the nature of the beast. It will slam down hard one time & it's done. No harm no foul. Tried to find the problem, but haven't figured it out yet. Funny thing is, I'm a longarm tech & can't resolve this one issue with my machine.
Try adjusting your #8 screw. Also check and see if your motor sensor is clear of lint. Sometimes lint or small bits of thread can obstruct it's sensor eye. Zeke....

Farmland Quilter reacted to micajah in A memory quilt made with hats??
I had to retime my machine after quilting a memory quilt made from those canvas bags given away at conventions. Thank goodness, it was not a huge quilt or caused more damage than it did.  I will not do another one made from anything thicker than a regular t shirt. My machine is too expensive to risk it for the pittance I make quilting. I would not do it even if it were my own hats.

Farmland Quilter got a reaction from Beachside Quilter in Thank You Amy
Just wanted to thank APQS and Amy for the great Maintenance Class at Carroll. It was well worth the $ and the trip. A particular thanks for the simple solution to the vibration noise. I am once again quilting in peace. Also thank you for creating such a quiet machine. I listened to a YouTube video to see a technique and the teacher had a different brand. I could not believe the difference!
