  12. I'm a little confused. But that's nothing new lol! Are we suggesting that stitching that has gone off the edge and not been secured will be magically secured by the binding stitch crossing it perpendicularly? I don't think so. Not unless your binding stitch is really tiny. I was called on this once years ago by a client and she showed me by scratching at the last few stitches travelling under the binding and they nearly ALL came loose. I now recommend using a really small stitch to attach binding or lock every stop and start into my basting stitch. As a general rule, I never trim a stitching line and I leave my basting stitches under my bindings. But that's just me.
  13. WOW Darlene, I would gladly drive down and get them from you. If you could spare an hour, I'd love to buy you lunch and discuss a few ideas I have that might help you get a new millie faster than you thought. Let me know when works best for you.
  14. What huge hearts quilters have! We are at over 100 quilts in various stages of completion, 6 longarms humming along, dozens of ladies piecing backing and binding like mad, bolts of batting flying off the roll, my heart is melting with all the generosity. We have a dear friend and customer in High River who's brand new Millennium will be completely under water for another 3-4 weeks. It's heart wrenching to know that flood insurance (acts of god) is not available in Canada. Thank you all for your support!
  15. Happy Birthday Beth! You're going to reduce the wear and tear on your body significantly. I love my saddle stool.
  16. LOL! Yup looks super smart! Might have been a little lint in the bobbin case. If it happens again, give it a good cleaning, air & oil.
  17. Welcome Dave! As I'm sure you've already realized, this forum is a great resource. You can also swing on over to http://manquilters.ning.com where I run a group of over 300 Men who quilt. You will be welcomed with open arms. Make sure your wife gets a turn on the machine now before you have to kick her off to get your fix
  18. After four long days of classes with Dawn, we know now more than ever what a gracious teacher and friend she truly is to the entire APQS family. Here is a little video of one of her classes this week. Notice how many miles she walks and how she gives personal time to each and every quilter in the room. You are Brilliant Dawn and we all love you! Happy Birthday my friend! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200695478883153
