My customer pieced this quilt using a pattern from the book GARDEN STITCHES by Lisa Bongean, Primitive Gatherings.  She named the quilt.  Because of her unique background, I had some trouble quilting this.  She didn't want stippling, just a mixture of feathers and spirals etc.  She gave me Warm and Natural and I used So Fine and Bottom Line.

Shana, I'm not surprised you helped her.  You've always been a big supporter on the forum.  I hope she  continues to quilt.

That's a lot of quilting for minimal quilting so I hope you were paid for it.  I've always liked McT and you've done a beautiful job.

Beautiful quilting!  I'm always amazed at how nice the basket weave design looks on a quilt.  I'm sure your customer will love it.

Originally my customer wanted three designs for this quilt.  One in the center, another one around that, and then a different one around that.    However, because of the design ( four petals in one juncture, and eight in another) they were turning as I moved around the blocks, and they didn't look right.  Then she said just to do Nemeshing.  I knew that would be boring, so I asked Bethanne Nemesh for her help.  In two minutes, you have to love creative geniuses, she sent me three designs.  I actually chose the easiest one for me to quilt.  At  the 8 petals I rotated the Nemeshing off the center point.  Then Bethanne suggested a basketweave for the other spaces.  My customer didn't want me to mark the quilt with a blue marker, so I used a hera marker and a ruler and tried to eyeball the weave.
I used one layer of wool batting and over one and 1/2 cones of bottom line.

Even though you didn't put a lot of quilting on this, you chose such beautiful designs that it looks like you did.  Thanks for letting me "see" a different way to design.

Wow is all I can say about this quilt.  50 hours just to quilt it....and people ask why quilting is so expensive.  If they only knew the amount of work that goes into a quilt.

Both quilts are fantastic!  Lots of piecing skill and patience there.  I particularly like the Six Pack quilt pattern and the fabric choices really make it a standout and your quilting choices are perfect!  Very nice altogether.

Both are absolutely beautiful....the white border on the first quilt with the pointed border just makes that quilt stand out.  I've always wanted to do that type of border with the points but was really afraid to try putting a binding on that.  Great job on both.

My customer wanted a fluffy batting with ON RINGO LAKE so I used Hobbs Polydown with Glide 40wt on top and 60wt in the bobbin.  Bayside Pantograph.
She wanted custom for SIX PACK, which, at first, gave me heart palpitations.  Finding just the right quilting designs is difficult for me.  The hardest part was trying to figure out the directions for the lines on the tumbling blocks on the edge.  For the most part, I had them right, but I did notice there was a pattern when the quilt was off the frame.  LOL  Oh, well, taking out the wrong directions wouldn't have made the quilt better.  So have fun looking for them.  I used Hobbs 80/20 since I had so much ruler work with all those seams, and I didn't want to be hopping on my ruler.  So Fine on top and Bottom Line in the bottom.
