  1. I have a Lucey and am currently doing a quilt that will not have binding. I know it has a name, but can't for the life of me remember what it's call. It's the kind that you layer and then turn right side out. But I am not sure how it could be loaded on Lucey or can it even be done?
  2. All-Hubby and I retimed Lucey (aka Christine because she is possessed like a Stephen King novel) yesterday. I was rather surprised when I moved the needle plate to find that the hook finger was totally disengaged from the basket. That's why my needle hit something and bent, not because I didn't have it in all the way of in incorrectly. I have NO idea why or how this happened. I have never done anything down there except for oil and removing, putting in the bobbin. Right now she is working and stitches all look good. The video was the ONLY way that I/we could have done this. Sure hope that things happen in 3's because that means that we should be good for some time to come. Fingers are crossed!!
  3. Thanks for the help. Problem is fixed. We set the timing and the machine runs great. Thanks
  4. Lucey and I have had our share of issues this week. Just when I think one problem is solved there's another one. This time I think it's a biggy. Don't know if I didn't have my new needle all the way in or what, but when I pressed the go button the needle went down and hit something in the bobbin and bent it. Naturally I turned off the power and replaced the bent needle and have just moved the wheel instead of turning her one again and when the needle gets to the lowest position is when it is hitting something in the bobbin. What do I do? Is it the needle bar or do I need to retime. I'm not very mechanically inclined and am just scared to death that I will make a bad situation worse. Of course stuff like this only happens at night or on a Friday night when the office is closed. Someone talk me off the ledge.

  6. Good morning everyone. I received my first QOV to quilt. I know how I want to quilt everything except the border. The border is a 9 patch design all around the quilt. Would prefer to do free motion rather than ruler work. The body of the quilt is what I would consider light to medium denisty, so of course not looking to do any heavy quilting on the border. Throw some ideas at me please! (BTW I love feathers, but mine really need some work! LOL So those would probably NOT be an option)
  7. Really appreciate all the suggestions. I have done the pigtail thing, tried different size needles and played with both upper and lower tension. Right now my stitches look perfect and still having some issues. Not as frequent as before, but still there. I have a new top loaded and if it continues tomorrow I guess I will ma another call on Monday. {{Sigh}}
  8. Hi all! I got my Lucey in October and have had a problem with the thread shredding and it is showing up between the two pigtails. I have checked for burrs on the top pigtail. Tension looks good on both top and bottom. The thread doesn't seem to be getting hung up anywhere. I was using bottom line thread on top and bottom and now am using so fine on both. No difference in either one. I have spoken to Dawn and headquarters and am still having the same problem. I am about ready to give up and put her up for sale! Here is a picture. (Sorry it's sideways! )
