  1. Thank you so much for the feedback. It is so helpful and much appreciated.
  2. Still a real beginner here as I have only been practicing with whole cloth fabric and sheets. I am wanting to load a crib quilt on the Millie and use the Circle Lord big board Cosmos to quilt it. My confusion is regarding stabilizing the sashing strips as I quilt. After reviewing a beginning quilting DVD, I am wondering if I should be stitching in the ditch to keep the sashing lines straight, as a first step? Or, should I just baste in the 1/4 inch edge on top and left sides as I advance. Any advice will be much appreciated. Hate to spoil the quilt. It's a gift and I have lots of time invested so far. Thanks.
  3. Saying prayers for you and your family. Best wishes to you all.
  4. Seeing beautiful quilting like this is a great inspiration to practice. Thank you for sharing.
  5. Thank you Kath. This video is great. It opened my eyes to all kinds of design possibilities.
  6. I would be happy to do this. Sent a U2U requesting PO address. We are praying for our friends in NZ.
  7. Friends don't let friends sip and quilt, do they? That beautiful martini looks like the perfect treat for after the fantastic quilting you are about to do. I used to live in Eugene and at times wish I still did so I could have the experience of watching you create your art. Best of luck with your quilt and look forward to seeing the finished creation.
  8. Wow Oma, This is as yummy as opening a new box of crayons. It is going to be a fun and beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see it quilted.
  9. OK, Thank you also Suzan. I will get back and work on this some more. Guess I don't really know what a "good" stitch looks like. They just do not look nice like I am used to on my Bernina. Perhaps I need to be practicing with better thread.
  10. OK, thanks Meg. So that bottom wheel is not bent and should sit at an angle like this? I did have it on a flat surface and did have the bobbin case snapped in however, I am still getting some crummy looking wobbly stitches as I continue to work on getting correct tension. I thought maybe the gauge is not working properly.
  11. I am just trying out the new TOWA bobbin gauge I received from Bobbin Central. Don't seem to be having much luck with it. On close inspection I notice that the bottom thread guide appears to tilt at an angle, compared to the top guide. Is this how it should look? Or have I received a broken gauge. Going to attempt to post a photo here. http://inlinethumb06.webshots.com/15429/2757094400107016163S600x600Q85.jpg
  12. That looks great Vickie. I just received this template this week and am looking forward to trying it. I just love the colors of your quilt. Makes me happy just to look at it. It has color power.
  13. Hi Julie, Hooray for you! Sounds like you hit the jackpot. I'm new to the LA world too and find myself shopping daily to get the right tools to get going. No doubt it will take a long time to equip myself. The best thing ever has been reading discussions about books, videos and tools that the talented quilters here on the forum have found most helpful. So, just have to say Thank You so much everyone for your help in guiding my choices. Happy quilting Julie. Hope you have as much fun with your Millie as I am.
