Check how your wheels are riding. If you have one wheel that isn't quite engaged to the rail, you're going to have big problems with control. Also make sure your table is level and square. Things get bumped over the years and sometimes the table gets a little wonky. Once your wheels are properly adjusted and your table is straight, you should be able to do wonderful feathers again.

That's a good solution. You might find out who in your area has a bigger table for this situation in the future. I have the only 14' frame locally and I get a lot of huge quilts.

I use Glide almost exclusively. And, you'll never catch me winding a bobbin. Magna Glide or Magna Quilt, all the way. I do use Essence (clear) for SID a lot, and I occasionally use Cairo Quilt, So Fine, or solid King Tut, but 99.9% of the time, it's Glide.
