  1. Thank you to all you helped...we did have to use some kind of rotary drill that cut a line through the screw..it came out quite easily after that..my neves were shot as sparks were flying everywhere around my sweet Lucey, who was traumatized by the entire event...after all it was supposed to be a "spa" treatment for her ...she is feeling better today....Lucey has been cleaned, oiled, motor brushed checked, etc, etc.. Funny aside...the night before I posted this...my husband suggested a couple of different methods...for one method he asked "Would you be upset if the machine gets scratched a bit?" Needless to say what kind of a question was that? That method was a NO...lol
  2. Hoping someone knows how I can remove a stripped screw...I was giving my Lucey a cleaning...decided to take off the left fly wheel cover...all the screw came off except one..no way no how would it budge...of course it's stripped after several attempts ...going to blame that one on the hubby... Tried wd40... Still there.. Did any of you hear me cursing ...?..
  3. Is the needle all the way up...when you insert it make sure it is as far up as it can go...
  4. First time I made a commission I had a hard time deciding how much to charge...maybe it was a twin ish size..said I would try to make it for $400 or so but costs quickly added up ...ended up charging $500 and she was happy...But it was still too little .... Same person asked me again and I made a total of five quilts for her ...price went up depending on size and design and the most recent one was $825... I try to do a breakdown of fabric cost, which was mine...batting, thread, etc, longarm quilting , labour for cutting, piecing, etc... Try to be fair...she knows the value and never complained...
  5. Kudos and congrats....that is so exciting...I am so happy to hear your precious little grandson is coming home....
  6. They are sweet and precious...God bless...prayers for a speedy recovery and healing to all...
  7. Hi Cindy, I have a LUCEY too...try not to lean on the bar when you start as this can cause wobbly line...this happened to me that's why I mention it as I am short so I tend to lean on the top bar... ...also did you tighten it all the way down...
  8. Congrats...I hope your quilt wins again...show us some pics if you can...
  9. She sounds like a person who will be impossible to please....I wouldn't do free sketches for her either...she could take your ideas and go somewhere else...I might show her a sketch in person but I would not send it via email or give her a copy ...tell her to research and use Pinterest etc and bring you ideas...and then of course you could add to them after that...I have this happen all the time when I am asked for drapery ideas....
  10. I'd rather know too....I would do anything to try to fix a problem for someone....so far it has never happened....I have only ever had to put one back on and that was only to fix a small seam that had started to unravel..less than an inch but I fixed it...
  11. Hi Amy or Dawn and other friends, I am quilting away a panto within borders and started out fine...start stops working and so was needle up down ...now the handles on both front and back are not cooperating and of course this is the time to act up when I am doing a panto inside borders and starts and stops have to be exact...can't be a regular panto when this happens so I could at least quilt off the top...no..I had this problem once before and did need a replacement circuit board of some kind. But now it is a vague memory and can't remember what I can try to adjust... Amy you were a great help last time and wonder if you could email me, respond here or call me Monday...or I will call you in case you don't see this....I appreciate your help... And Happy 4th of July to my friends south of the border.... Tella
