  1. Recently, I posted about the panto Entangled and all the grief it gave me ....just a couple days ago the quilt maker sent me some pics of the finished quilt and tells me she has already sold 20 patterns...her name is Elizabeth Elliott...she designs using Code...computer program... Here are a couple pics...
  2. Adorable....look at those little boots...those are keepers...
  3. The pics are so cute....I have 2 sons...these pics remind me of how fast time passes....I used to keep pics like this around and when the two of them used to argue, fight, hate each other, etc...( not too often thank God)....I used to pull out the pics like they when they were hugging and happy...lol...and remind them of how happy they were to meet each other in the hospital...
  4. Thanks for the ironing board tip...last week I chalked my entire quilt since the panto wasn't working well...I managed but the ironing board would have helped even more...
  5. I have never tried this, nor am I an expert but how about those gadgets that remove lint...there are some battery operated ones...has anyone ever tried them for this.??
  6. Can anyone tell me where to get one..I have heard it mentioned before...like a crochet hook??? I need one...
  7. I just wanted to let you know what I did with Entangled...I emailed the company and the response I got was that it is a very difficult pattern to do ...I am definitely not happy with how it quilts from the back.... I tried a couple of things...I copied ths pattern to tracing paper...not happy with this either...paper difficult to remove...not supposed to be... So I took a plastic template sheet and traced the pattern....put a huge needle in my sewing machine and sewed over the lines ...no thread...used this and pounced the design on with chalk..with this particular design it worked.... Just
  8. Bonnie, Thanks, I will try that...I tried a bunch of different ways...This one is awful....I am going to try tomorrow again and then if I am not happy with it I may just ask the customer if I can sketch my own out...they will look better for sure than what I am getting from the back...I will check out Gossamer... 9. Thank you ladies...I have been practicing since my first email...I was going wrong at number 4 ...Linda, I was not doing the spiral from here...I was trying to do it clockwise from 5...and it looks like you quilt it counter clockwise....and end up at 5... Then do 6 7 8 9 and 10...any way you quilt it I don't think I am going to be happy with it because it is really hard to math up the spine lines exactly with then spiral lines...and if you don't it looks awful...I have to do a perfect job because this quilt will be photographed as the quilt maker has made a pattern for it she intends to sell..
  10. I am getting ready to use this panto called Entangled ...it is a spider web design...it has numbers and arrows that should help with the path and I thought it was straightforward until I went to use it. I can't for the life of me figure out the continuous path...if anyone here has used it and can help me I would very much appreciate it... Here is a pic of it...along with a close up of the numbering and the arrows...
  11. I remember when I ordered the new hopping foot set there was a slight adjustment needed on the hopping foot and it is supposed to be a business card thickness...or two? ...I can do it but just don't know if I should or if it will affect the stitches or the tension in the rest of the quilt... As I was thinking about it today I got another idea...I may just leave that border with the prairie points and do the ditch work on my domestic??
  12. I just loaded a Sunbonnet Sue quilt with prairie points in the border....I can see that the seam in the border with the prairie points is very thick and especially at the corners, I cannot smoothly move the hopping foot across or over this area... So, do I need to raise the hopping foot, or what can I do? I don't want to ruin my quilt...and I am going to get stuck in these spots...any suggestions from the pros are appreciated...
  13. So sorry for your loss...I will pray for you...
  14. If you have extra fabric across the top why not cut that off, re-attach the top back to the leader and use that strip for the 2 inches or so you are short at the bottom ..since the top is already quilted you can cut right to the binding...I ask because if the quilt is not square, the top and bottom are going to be one length and the sides are different length...just asking?
  15. I don't have the luxury of the hydraulic lift and feel sorry for myself as a result ...but I'd be one to send everything flying... I do a pretty good job on a regular basis...lol
  16. I think I am like the (older) machines....I am slow to start...don't like it below 55 degrees and if it's cold warm up time can be longer...as I warm up I work better...once in a while I need a tune up....
  17. Oh so sorry to hear about your terrible loss on your birthday .....I will pray for you and your family ...
  18. Try to loosen the tension on the bobbin case...there is a screw to loosen.....try to slide a pin under the spring part of the bobbin to see if there are threads or lint stuck...check Jamie Wallins you tube video ...I think he shows you how to do this... and you could maybe order a new bobbin case....since the machine is 12 years old it wouldn't hurt...
  19. I nearly went crazy before Christmas with the same problem...nearly took the machine apart...but nothing....Finally, I changed the needle and ...VOILA....perfect stitches....and the needle was not old but maybe defective....
  20. Yes, I too would be interested to see what you have come up with to make pantos easy...if not a fortune I would, consider buying it...
  21. How sweet...he knows what he is talking about for sure....
