  1. So it ended up being 2 things! 1) When you take out the bobbin case, inside there the toe of the hook has to be straight up and seated in the center. There is a screw that holds it in place, which seemed a bit loose. So got it centered and tightened the screw. 2) The hopping foot was situated too high - not sure how, when or why, but it's lowered now. So far, everything is AOK. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .For Now! Thanks everyone! Linda
  2. I checked out Running Threads post. Needle was fine. There was no fore or aft play in the hook. I am starting to think the position of the hook assembly is not centered; however, when I do center it, and tighten the screw, it hops out. I wonder if it's timing? I see many charts and videos to address that, but frankly nervous to dig into it that deep ~ BUT, something has to be done. 1 more thing to add, a needle did break, and I'm not finding the broken piece in there anywhere - even tried a magnet. It seems impossible for the broken part to fall "out" of that sleeve area, but looked all over on floor etc. Man I wish one of you were near me to help! Anyone near Ramsey / Minneapolis? (PS: this a a Grace Qnique 15R)
  3. I will give it a go tomorrow - thanks! (FYI just put in new needle, and not using ruler) I'll check back in!!!!
  4. I've read a LOT of tension issues etc., but none seem to address what the main reason is for the needle not bringing up the lower bobbin thread. Already checked both tensions, rethreaded, put in new needle correctly, cleaned disks and bobbin area, what's next? The needle does go down, it's just not catching the thread.
