  1. No, it’s in California now. I’m in Oxnard.
  2. Hi there. Yes it is. I’ll send you a message.
  3. NQS, Yes I still have the machine. I’m in Oxnard and have it set up as I found a place with a room. I’ve now done 4 quilts on it but honestly I’m not really enjoying the whole experience as much as I’d hoped I would. If you were interested though and if you wanted to make a trip up to Oxnard you could test drive it.
  4. Thank you everyone. Angie helped me via email and I think it’s good again. I kind of did what Nigel said after moving the needle plate for a better angle at the top of the hook assembly. Seems better now. I’m going to put some practice fabric on and give it a whirl.
  5. Thanks Nigel, i did do that and it didn’t help. Still noisy.
  6. Thanks Sewingpup. I went back down this morning and played around again and have determined that the excess noise seems to be coming from the hook assembly. Some of it is due to movement of the black part in the silver part but it seems more than that. I need to call APQS or watch the timing video again or something to see if I can figure out what is going on.
  7. I have an APQS Lenni that is a year old. Right after I bought it last year my life sort of imploded and I ended up moving from Texas back to California. While moving back is a good thing, I’ve been having trouble off and on with my machine since. I had to put the machine in storage for about 4 months while I worked everything out. It was in storage in Texas from the end of July to early November, so still fairly hot for most of that time. When I first got it set up I was breaking my top thread a lot but I was sewing on a couple of sheets from Walmart to practice. Going back to regular fabric seems to have improved that. I’m breaking thread again on my current quilt but that might be related to the fact that I’m trying to quilt with Aurifil thread which can be finicky in my regular machine. However when sewing today I noticed my machine seems really noisy. Now I’m not sure what’s wrong. The frustrating thing is that when stuff like this happens instead of working on figuring out what is wrong I tend to walk away and then not touch it for a month or so. I have to admit that I sort of wish I hadn’t bought my machine. I’m living in an apartment I don’t love as it’s the only place that had a room big enough for it. Also I really have no desire to repair or work on it but taking it nearly 100 miles to have it worked on is also a problem. I had went back and forth between a Lenni and a George and sort of wish I had just went with a George or another sit down model. I did list my machine to sell but didn’t get much interest in it. Any advice?
  8. Hi Sewing pup. I have friends in California. I’d lived there for 10 years prior to coming to Texas (I’ve been in Texas for a year and a half). I’m looking at putting everything in storage before I go as if it sells while I’m away from home I may not be able to come back to move it. If I’m taking travel assignments it’s usually a 13 week contract but I do plan to eventually decide on a place I want to be. Or how to go where I want to be which is pretty expensive. However it’s a place I love.
  9. Sold! I have done 5 quilts on it. When I bought it last April (2018) I was living in Texas and I thought I had the perfect place for it and was going to start my own business. Then life happened, my job in Texas became a very unhappy place and I moved back to California. While I found an apartment that had a room big enough for the machine I just haven’t been putting the time into becoming good at this, mostly because I don’t enjoy it that much. At some point I may get a sit down machine in order to quilt my own quilts but right now it would be easier to find a new home for my Lenni. So it’s a brand new Lenni 12 foot blissed table. I will throw in all my pantographs as well. Also will include all instructions, extra bobbin cases and bobbins, needles etc and my magna glide bobbins. I’m not sure when I’d be able to use them again. I have the new turbo bobbin winder that came with Lenni and I also have a ruler base that is older as it came with my Ult II but it fits on Lenni fine. I have the box for the machine head but not the others. I’m asking $8500 for all of it. Granted if you wanted it shipped you’d have to pay for that. I’m in Oxnard, California which is about 50 miles north of LA. The machine right now is set up and works wonderfully if you were close enough to come take a test drive. I often forget about checking this message board daily but I do check my email frequently. Therefore you’ll get a quicker response if you email me at battynurse@gmail.com .
  10. Yes it is. I've actually recently had it serviced and so everything is working beautifully. I had the shaft replaced, gear box repacked and basic overall spa treatment.
  11. I came up with my price based on how much I had spent on it in purchase price and repairs or replacing parts, also not knowing if it needed further repair. Since I originally posted this I had Dave Jones come look at it and work on it for me. My needle depth was off and the machine apparently doesn't like magna glide pre wound bobbins, nothing wrong with the shaft as I had thought was a possibility. Since then I've been sewing on it and it's working fine. He had told me he could build a new table for it and a stitch regulator could be added but at this point I'd really like to put money towards a newer machine, after I pay off a couple of bills.
  12. Yes Jim I'm sure it's a 10 foot table. I think I had read somewhere that there were some 10 ft tables made for the ultimate 2. It's funny because I was trying to decide if I could fit a 12 foot in my room whenever I upgrade and it sure would be close.
  13. My plan is to eventually get something different, hopefully 6 months to a year down the road. Right now it's just making me crazy constantly working on the machine and not knowing if I'm doing it wrong or if there is something else. Plus not having enough money to take a class on repairing it or have it repaired.
  14. Here is another picture of the machine (and my cat
  15. I've decided I need to try to sell my machine for a number of reasons. I purchased the machine last year from what I think is the second owner for $3000. It's an APQS Ultimate II. It is on a 10 foot wood table. It is not stitch regulated although I've figured it out pretty well without that. When it sews it sews beautifully. I've been have problems lately with needle breaks which I'm truly not sure if this is an error on my part in setting the needle depth and timing or if there is an issue with the hook shaft. I have replaced the motor and the speed switch on it so those are both new. You might need a new hook assembly for it. It's an L bobbin and I have a few bobbin cases and bobbins I will include along with the part of the owners manual that I received. I'm in central coastal California, specifically Lompoc. It is possible to ship it all but is fairly expensive since the table is so heavy. I do have the shipping box for the machine head. Otherwise pickup is possible if you're within driving distance. I'm asking $1500 for it. I check in here fairly often or I can be reached at battynurse@gmail.com as well.

    Funny

So I discovered today that putting a quilt top on my table to work on later might not be the best idea. Right now I'm still learning quilting and just working on my own projects so not a huge deal. If I ever start doing customers quilts I will probably need to make my sewing room a cat free zone.
