  1. Is there an adjustment to the stitch length setting? Mine doesn't seem to be right.............I scroll up and down, but don't seem to get much change in length.
  2. Actually, I don't think anyone would object to paying a service call and with warranty covering any parts needed..........They don't even seem to offer that as an option..........Many of us can't or don't wish to work on our own machines..........fearing doing something to damage the machine and ruining the warranty...........having a hard time seeing or getting into a position to do maintenance, etc.............I am 70 years old and do not wish to do it and my husband is even less enthused about it.............many of us are in the same boat.........I can clean/oil my machine and those things, but I will not get into replacing circuit boards or anything else. Lifetime Warranty should include more than just parts coming to you in the mail and a "do it yourself kit".
  3. Knock on wood, my machine is working OK, but dread the day when it does need something............my friend went through "H"..........she bought a demo machine, but they are supposed to be all worked over and have the warranty...........I guess if you can fix it yourself with a part they might send you, you are OK, but don't ask for anyone to come to the house...........I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the Customer Service in that regard.......she even had trouble getting anyone to return her calls, emails, etc. .....We recently moved and they did give me the name of a man who would come move my machine, but he didn't do any maintenance............only take it down and put it back up in the new location...........and I paid him $400 to do it...........
  4. I wish APQS would train more field techs to come around and service our machines............not just routine maintenance, but troubleshooting problems...........a friend just spent MONTHS dealing with her 2014 demo machine trying to get it to work right.............no one would come to her house to check it out............kept trying to 'FIX IT' by email and phone calls with no results other than more frustration for her............she was finally forced to trade it off for a brand new machine - just to get something that works............she SERIOUSLY considered buying another brand.........APQS touts their great warranty and customer service, but it seems to be lacking..............many of us are not able to man handle a machine to pack it up and send it to Carroll.........when I got my new machine a year ago, they took the box back with them. I dread the day when I might need help because it seems no one will come............with the number of machines that are sold every day and at all these Road Shows and Quilt Shows, APQS is falling down on their Customer Service after the machine is delivered.
  5. Another topic I'm glad to see...........I will have laminate flooring in my new sewing room...........I ordered the castors for my machine and will have them installed when the machine gets moved to the new house............I didn't think about vibration, but as mentioned, small carpet squares or maybe some of that shelf liner fabric would help.........a friend just got a new sewing room built with laminate flooring, but never said anything about vibration or the machine moving..........I have a 12' table and Millenium.
  6. Thanks.........great ideas...........think I have a plan...........I will have a nice closet in my new room and planning it with a section for the pattern boards........I hoped to store them vertically .......... looked and looked online for shelf dividers of some kind..............finally came on the idea to use spring tension curtain rods between the top and bottom of the space........they will stand vertical..........two rods about 6" apart...........then skip about 6" and two more rods, etc..........In my mind, this will work...........will see how it really works when I get to that point..........some of my boards are 28" long........more are around 24".........thinking of doing the same arrangement for my bolts of fabric..........now I have them stacked on top of each other............of course, I always want the one on the bottom............hoping to have them standing like in the fabric store.........one other nice thing about using the rods...........they are movable..........my DH liked the idea that he didn't have to use any tools to install something else !
  7. How do you quilters store your pattern boards? We are building a new home and I will have a nice quilt studio with a big closet...........looking for ideas of storing pattern boards so they are easy to see and pull out as needed..............any suggestions? Linda
  8. A friend has had an Ultimate II machine for almosst 20 years and only had the timing adjusted once.............she has quilted hundreds of quilts...........your machine definitely has problems.............Did you buy it privately from an individual? Maybe that's why THEY sold it............
  9. I can imagine the cost for Vendors is the biggest issue............Price for their space is probably going up and up.........hotels, food, gas............all very costly............they would have to sell an enormous amount of product to come out ahead...........AND the price to get in the door keeps going up too...........just like everything else...........we pay more and more for less and less..........
  10. I had the M bobbin in my Handi Quilter and they were nice...........I stayed with the L bobbin on my new one because I already have a bunch of bobbins and I can use the same ones (except for the magna glide) in my DSM too.
  11. I just took delivery yesterday on my second Millenium! Customer Service is outstanding...........quality is great...........my husband, too, was impressed with the quality of the frame and everything when we went to look the first time. It helps that I only live anhour from the showroom in Des Moines and a couple hours from the factory in Carroll..........Can't beat the Lifetime warranty now.............my first one had 8 years and I thought that was fantastic...........
  12. I live just a couple hours from Cedar Rapids and was all excited thinking I might go...........but things happened and I didn't.............glad now that my plans were interrupted. Haven't decided if will go back to the AQS Des Moines show in the Fall either. Other than going with friends and having a fun day with them, it was really disappointing last year.
  13. We thought the AQS Show in Des Moines was rather skimpy last Fall, too............must be a trend........I took a friend who is a brand new long arm quilter and was raving about all the booths for this and that and what we could find for her, only to be disappointed that a lot of them weren't there. I also agree with the winning quilts being the same ones over and over and over..........they win at all the shows, so why does an amateur even bother with it? It is expensive to ship, insure, enter..........I would love to see them have a category for "non-professional"........Not sure I will go back.
  14. The quilting detail is amazing............absolutely gorgeous !
