  1. I was fortunate to be able to quilt Three of these baby Quilts for the same customer. She Used the Pattern Mommy and Me. She used a white on White Fabric That had a 1" diamond grid printed on it for the Background in the center area as soon as I saw that that I wanted to practice some grid work . I just went for it what do you think do you practice on customers quilts? Hope you have a great Day.
  2. Well Done and I love the quilt also... Cute pattern.
  3. Beautiful colors on this one and beautiful quilting also. well done
  4. Hi Marcia I am sure you have finished this project I have not been on the forum for quilt a while Yes I did mark the lines before I put it on the frame then quilted the entire back ground Then added the chenille to the lines I drew on the quilt I think the lines were about 4" in length. I would love to see your project

When destiny calls, you do well to listen! It is very heart warming to hear stories like yours and I think you have earned your success with hard work and (from the little I know of you) with a great character and attitude. We can't help but respond positively to good people! Enjoy the rewards! You reap what you sow/sew :-)

So, I did some more pantos using a smaller, more detailed one and ... uuurrrgh! I am so not happy with the results. Music, pinky finger out, but no wine as I still have to drive this afternoon. I think it is time to get new wheels and see if that makes a difference... these are still from 2001, so past due for a change. There are definitely consistent issues with jogging at the same points of movememt. I draw and paint well so it should not be a lack of hand-eye coordination. Or at least I hope not Or i am deluding myself! My free motion turns out satisfactorily to me but I think it helps to get direct feedback by being on the same side of the machine as the quilt top. Yes, I quickly figured out a few years ago with my old Grace setup about those rail tracks if I didn't pause at the points! I unsewed a lot! But, until I get new wheels I will still persist with the panto practice. Worst case scenario is that I learn a lot as a result of working with harder wheels... might make me a better quilter in the long run.

Jim, on this forum, recommends edgerider wheels. Have you heard of them, or used them, or have an opinion on them? I know of the APQS M&M wheels of course, but didn't know I had options available.

Anyway, I hope the sun is shining in your part of paradise. Have a great afternoon!

I went from the old brown one that made square circles to the M&M wheels the helped a  lot but then I had an opportunity to bliss my machine and I love that. It is way smoother and circles are circles. Hope you find your solution so you can just stitch and enjoy.

I can only dream of bliss!  Did you have it done in the USA or did your dealer do it for you? I am not clear about the process involved In the conversion.

But it is good to hear that you saw an improvement with the M&Ms... square circles describes my situation pretty well! I have some good circles, but not consistently. Not by a long shot. I think m&m will be my next purchase, once I have my C.L. goodies paid for first. My logic: the boards give consistent and smooth results. I could do the wheels first, but then I am still doing free motion and subject to whoopses and inconsitencies. C.L. should offer a jumpstart to professional results right out of the box without changing anything else (judging by the results from my R&S board so far). Or at least I am hoping and praying it will! I should know in a few weeks if I am correct or a fool!

  6. Such a happy quilt Patty Jo. It is just perfect

Nancy (Pepsi Girl) did offer to send along a backing, and I told her no.  However, I see your point, and I will send her another message saying I have reconsidered the matter.  I often add blocks to my backs, or use two (or more) fabrics on them, so that would be a possibility, too.

A scrappy binding would be fun, so maybe we could ask block makers to send some leftover binding with their blocks, if they want.

  10. Cagey I am sure modern quilters love that elephant in those colors I had to look past that and put my scrappy twist on it. I love mixing different color prints together that people say don't go together and make something beautiful. I have made an orange one for myself I shrunk it down in size to be able to display it where I want. He is on my long arm right now He is bright and beautiful. I will post him soon.
  11. Ya you and the 57,000 people who have looked at it on my Facebook page Liam. I am very pleased with my Bohemian quilting...That is what I am calling itI am starting a new style ...Ya Me
  12. Thank-you Heide and everybody else that had wonderful things to say. I really enjoyed this project and because it was mine I could play with the quilting.
  13. The problem with showing these projects on the net...you do not get to see the reaction they cause. That is the most fun, seeing the reaction these project make. I experienced this last year at our local quilt show They placed my house quilt on the end of the aisle and I could stand back and watch people as they turned the corner and actually stand behind them and listen to them talking to their friends and creap closer to the quilt inspecting . then they would say this quilter must be crazy, That is when I would say Yes I am and they would get whip lash to look at me and then the conversation began...The most fun I have had ever. I am hoping to experience that again with this Quilt. Thank-you for telling me your wife's reaction Eric.
  14. abra cadabra.... twitch of my nose and it is on its way to you Lora...seriously Thank-you I think my love for the process comes out in my pieces.
  15. Oma start with the main fabric in the trunk this is the most important piece. Find it then you will find your color. Hope that helps I think he van be stunning in any color
  16. Thank-you Diane that means a lot to me The mouse was something I added to the elephant I usually add or change something to make it my own and unique. this was a fun project for sure.
  17. Hello I am finally done (except binding) and ready to introduce Ellie and Squeak. It is a pattern from Violet Craft called Elephant Abstractions. I have done a custom quilting on it I am called Bohemian quilting.I am not sure what that means but that is what I am calling it. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it. I have included a front back and before image. Thanks for looking.
  18. There are several long armers in our guild so I do not blow my horn there. That being said my best advertising was doing charity quilts for the guild I always add a business card to the quilt when they are returned to the charity group, their is usually 10-14 quilters at their sew days and quilters talk. also the care group shows all the care quilts at our monthly meetings. they always mention who quilted it, this is free advertising for use donating our time. I have had several requests doing this. Hope some of this helps ...word of mouth is my best advertising.
  19. Welcome Beth nice to meet you hope to see some amazing thing in the near future.
  20. You did a beautiful job on this quilt Andrea. I am so happy you can enjoy your creation.
  21. I charge 300.00 for a 12 shirt quilt with sashing and batting and flannel backing
