  1. Thank you, Teresa. I love quilting and would eventually quilt for other people to help pay for my Lenni. But I need to get a lot better than I am now. I will try marking the material into twelve in squares and hope I can put some of the designs I have floating in my head on them. I have not had my free one day lesson on Lenni yet, that will take place in two weeks. I will keep practicing daily.
  2. Thank you both for the tips and incouragement. I have a new Lenni, only had it a week and I do need lots of practice and I do not mind practicing but it is the waste that I do not like. I will find some uses for the practice pieces. So far I am using fabric that I have and do not know why on earth I bought it in the first place. I am also piecing batting together to use that up too.
  3. I was just reading that a newbie should practice an hour everyday and I totally agree that is good advice. However, that is a lot of fabric and batting that is wasted. Believe me that after I have been practicing it is not something that I would use afterwards. Is this what you all had to do to get good at this. I have the basic machine with know extras for it, and it is not gliding around he fabric as smoothly as I thought it would.
  4. I am a new owner of a Lenni and find it is not as easy to learn as I thought it would be. I read on here that you should practice a hour each day. I think that is good advice nut that can be very costly when you have to use fabric and batting and in the end just throw in in the trash. I personally would not want anyone to see the bad work that I do.

  5. Does anyone know it there are any shows in Southern Florida in January?
  6. This is beautiful. I don't think I will ever be able to quilt like that. But, I certainly will keep trying.
  7. Lenni came to live with us yesterday and my husband and I put him together. That was interesting and so glad my husband is good at putting things together. Okay I have been playing with Lenni and let me say "it is not as easy as the videos make it look"! But I will practice everyday until I get the hang of it. I hope I can do better sooner rather than later because I have so much I want to do with Lenni. I think the first thing I have found that I need to do and that is to slow down.
  8. Linda, I have to agree with you, Cathy did a fantastic job on the quilt and as you said the pinwheels look like they are twirling in the wind. I am new to long arm quilting and can only dream of doing work like Cathy. Just amazing.
  9. Thank you all for the comments. The bobbin winder is the delux sidewinder so I will give it a try and hope it works well. If not maybe I will go to pre wound bobbins. Lenni arrived today and my husband and I put it together and all is well except for one major problem!!!! We can not figure out where to plug what in. There directions do not seem to match the machine. Anyone with some comments for this? I want to start quilting!
  10. You did a beautiful job quilting this quilt. It is just beautiful. I found the picture of this quilt on Pinterest. This is a link that was with the photo. I loved it the minute I looked at it? http://www.quiltingboard.com/pictures-f5/pinwheel-quilt-linda-t197878.html
  11. I am new here and have never used a long arm so not sure sure what advantages there are for buying the others. Could you give me some information on them.
  12. Does anyone know what hooping feet come with the Lenni? Or does it come with just one?
  13. Amazing quilting on all your quilts. I can only dream of being able to quilt that way.
  14. My Lenni will be delivered on Tuesday and I hope it is the deluxe and that it will work fine for me. I am praying that I will have smooth beautiful quilting when I use Lenni. I have never even tried out a long arm so please pray that things go smoothly for me. Thanks to all of you for your comments.
  15. I will start drawing it out today and see how that works for me. It will be a couple of weeks before I can quilt it so that will give me time to practice. Thank you all for your help. Love quilting!
  16. I saw this quilt on Pinterest and loved the way it was quilted and want to quilt mine the same way. It gives the pinwheels movement, or so it seems. Will look for the rulers. Thank you.
  17. If the sidewinder bobbin winder does not work good why would APQS sell them? That does not make any sense to sell a quality quilting machine and a crappy bobbin winder.
  18. Would any of you quilters know the rulers that would have been used in the attached photo. I love the quilting and I have a pinwheel quilt that is ready to be quilted and would do this on mine if I knew how. I am a beginner and have not used rulers. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Sheila

  20. I bought a new Lenni, not delivered yet, some quilters recommended the L bobbins. Also some friends have the sidewinder bobbing winder and said it does not do a good job. Do any of you have any comments on this? I am really new at all this and would appreciate any help.
  21. I do not have my Lenni yet, it will be delivered on Tuesday. My question is, I have heard the sidewinder bobbin winder is not very good. I guess people do not like the way it winds the bobbin. Anyone out there have any comments on this?
