  1. We did the move completely ourselves. Lenni was packed in the original box and well secured. Everything was labeled with blue painters tape for all the connecting cords, etc. as we disassembled to make things easier on the other end. The rails and frame were all wrapped with lots of bubble wrap and shrink wrap plastic. I used foam pool noodles sliced like hot-dog buns to go over the bliss tracks to protect them. Everything sat in a climate controlled storage unit for about 6months+ before my dear hubby decided that I really NEEDED my sewing space and we managed to cram it all into our tiny rental house. Things went together smoothly and Lenni was up and running like there had never been a move! Amazing machine from APQS and I'm still loving it as much now as in 2016 when I bought it.
  2. Quilters Dream makes a Cotton that is - Supreme: Highest loft. A hefty, very warm, and dense batting that has 1/2 pound of cotton per square yard according to their website. Might be worth looking at if it sounds like what you are after. Otherwise a double batt of regular might do the trick.
  3. We will be relocating from New England to NC in the next few months and I am looking for any and all advice on moving my Lenni. I have a 12 ft blissed table. I have the original box for Lenni .... but moving the frame and rails....? I think I read somewhere about using pool noodles to cover the rails and wrap them extra with padding? Advice? Suggestions? Tips? Thanks all!
  4. I just use a practice piece I quilted on my Lenni - just serged the edges. :-)
  5. I had a similar situation with Quilters Dream wool (which is machine washable)- it bearded out the back and front of a dark fabric quilt I made for my son. QD customer service told me that it was due to the dark colored fabrics and something in the dyes that cause a static build up to pull the wool fibers and cause them to migrate out. Other's I know have had it happen with wool that is NOT supposed to be machine washed (dry clean only). The only fix I've found - other than picking out the entire quilt - is to use a sweater shaver to mitigate the fuzzies. My son's quilt does this EVERY time it is washed unfortunately. :-(
  6. I've had my Lenni since 2016 and LOVE it! Congrats!
  7. Oh my goodness - how absolutely STUNNING! Very creative and just gorgeous quilting!
  8. What a lovely gift! I love that pattern for it's simplicity and timelessnes.
  9. UGH!!!! Editing this! DO NOT BUY THESE STRIPS FROM WALMART! The adhesive is letting go already!!!! TOday is only 7/24/18 and they are peeling!!! And of course I'm 2 rows from finishing a quilt! Just wanted to add that I tried Jim's suggestion and it works GREAT! I used goo-gone to clean the residue from the brakes and my rails and after a bit of trimming, used the tub strips pictured - wavy was all my WalMart had in stock. (2 per side). I have plenty left for any future needs.
  10. Posting here for those not part of the facebook group. Not a really great picture - but it's finally done and gifted to my son for his move-in at school next month.Applique center pattern "Majesty" by Gina Reddin Designs, borders are created with 'curved braid' by Victoria Findlay Wolfe. Quilted on my Lenni with SoFine and Aurifil threads, Quilters Dream Wool Batting. All hand-guided - freehand faux McTavishing and some rulers. I've been pantograph quilting for almost 5 years and only started FMQ this year. This project stretched me in a LOT of ways - especially as it was for my youngest child as he leaves (1,000+miles) for college!
  11. Forums are so much easier for topic specific information. FB is more random - but sometimes entertaining.
  12. I use custom printed labels that I sew on when I'm doing binding on my projects. I purchased them here: https://ikaprint.com/?wpam_refkey=5 You can see the label in the corner of the backing. The front has my 'business name' and when you flip it up it has my name. They are nice quality, not too expensive and I think it was 100 labels in the pack.
  13. Hi there - I just cut this from another post I wrote a little bit ago... maybe it'll help you. My new Lenni arrived a few weeks ago and I'm just now getting to be able to practice (mostly) daily for an hour or so. I noticed the other day after several hours of practice, that there was a harmonic vibrating sound coming from the top of the back of the machine - the 'hood' is loose around the top part of the machine in the back - screwed on. After searching the forums I found it was not unique and after reading some of the 'fixes' people had - I used a few small felt pad circles (the kind that go on the bottom of chair legs to slide/protect) tucked in at the edges and VOILA - no more sound/vibration!
