We had a forced reno and had to replace ceiling tiles in our family room which houses my Lucey longarm quilter. We replaced my fluorescent lighting with 5000K LED Wafer Downlights. They are awesome. I have 8  placed in two rows of 4.
    Good for my aging eyes.

Wondering what the opinion is on placing a magnet on the APQS machine exterior to hold scissors, a needle to bury threads, etc.
Are there computerized parts near the front of the machine that could be harmed by magnets?
Does anyone know if this would create a problem with the inner work

UPDATE: After testing the metal machine housing, I realized that magnets just won't stick to it anyway, so I added a small piece of industrial strength adhesive backed Velcro to the top front of the machine, away from all the wicks, then added the corresponding piece to the back of my retractable unit. SO handy in this position for me, and completely out of the thread path, too.

We did the move completely ourselves.
Lenni was packed in the original box and well secured.  Everything was labeled with blue painters tape for all the connecting cords, etc. as we disassembled to make things easier on the other end.  The rails and frame were all wrapped with lots of bubble wrap and shrink wrap plastic.  I used foam pool noodles sliced like hot-dog buns to go over the bliss tracks to protect them.
Everything sat in a climate controlled storage unit for about 6months+ before my dear hubby decided that I really NEEDED my sewing space and we managed to cram it all into our tiny rental house.  Things went together smoothly and Lenni was up and running like there had never been a move!
Amazing machine from APQS and I'm still loving it as much now as in 2016 when I bought it.

We will be relocating from New England to NC in the next few months and I am looking for any and all advice on moving my Lenni.  I have a 12 ft blissed table.

I have the original box for Lenni .... but moving the frame and rails....?  I think I read somewhere about using pool noodles to cover the rails and wrap them extra with padding?

    Advice?  Suggestions?  Tips?

    Thanks all!

Quilters Dream makes a  Cotton that is - Supreme:  Highest loft. A hefty, very warm, and dense batting that has 1/2 pound of cotton per square yard
according to their website.  Might be worth looking at if it sounds like what you are after.
Otherwise a double batt of regular might do the trick.

I have decided that I am going to leave FB in the next week or two.  I have had enough of the spewing hate there from both sides.  I also do not believe in the censorship there and other sites.  I have none of our kids or grands on FB.  Most other family members are not on either, or rarely ever post.  I have never posted much here but I read.  Somehow this did not get transferred when I got this new computer and I could not get in under IQuiltToo.  I had to sign in as a new user.  Looking forward to being here again!

My DH outdid himself today. I was using curtain rods to support my clamps and I asked if he could make something for me ... he sure did!!

Something like that, I imagine - we've seen a lot of facebook friends suffer through the same thing! But Mark Caraher is looking into it and will get the bad posts gone!!

Join a local guild but don't be surprised if you get the cold shoulder from the resident quilter in the group. Volunteer to help with their projects. Once they see your work, people will migrate to you. Don't go after the other quilters' clientele but wait for the new members who will find you are available when the others are backed up. Word of mouth gets you lots of repeat customers.

I was fortunate to be able to quilt Three of these baby Quilts for the same customer. She Used the Pattern Mommy and Me.
She used a white on White Fabric That had a 1" diamond grid printed on it for the Background in the center area as soon as I saw that that
I wanted to practice some grid work . I just went for it what do you think do you practice on customers quilts?
Hope you have a great Day.

I prefer this forum and when I first became a millie owner this forum was really hopping and loved it.  I couldn't wait to open the forum and look at all the inspiration quilters had posted.  Sadly alot have gone the way of FB and I don't get to see their beautiful work. I still log on a few times a month but not like I used to.  I have been on this forum for about 8 years now and will have more time to look on here because I decided this week to retire from doing customer quilts and quilt my own yah!!!!  Hope everyone posts more pics love them

I got Millie in September and did two small quilts with a meander stitch. This one I went all out and did my first custom work with rulers and free motion. So thrilled with the turnout.
Each stripe has a different pattern( stripes, plaid, cross hatch, meander, loops). The first border is wishbones and the outer border is piano keys.
