I usually stitch in the ditch for stars to pop out. Can anyone help me find a way to quilt the stars and make them stars of the quilt? I meanI don't want to take anything away from the stars. Its for a quilt of valor. Thanks for your responses in advance!
I have a new customer that wants me to quilt the attached quilt. He wants me to pick what goes in the background (while the fabric is small flowered sheets, he does not want meander or feminine). Suggestions? In the star, he wants me to quilt feather fans. I do not know what feather fans are. Can someone describe them? I will try to make the border (top and bottom only) similar to these feathers. Winnie Not sure why the photo didn't upload the first time. Here I go again...I hope.
Hi, I finished this Star Quilt last week for a customer. I did freehand quilting on the interior of the quilt and used a QZ board for the Ribbon Candy in the black border and my CL Bead Board for the gold outer border. I used Glide thread in Sand for the everything except the black border, where I used black thread. I didn't change bobbin colors when I switched to the black but now I wish I had. I can see black threads on the gold backing. Diane's Star quilt by Heirloom Quilter, on Flickr Untitled by Heirloom Quilter, on Flickr Untitled by Heirloom Quilter, on Flickr Unt
