  1. I am about to put together an all batik (100% cotton) queen size top with a close weave 100% cotton backing ( much heavier then the top) for my son and wife called Circle dance. I have read many articles on batting and I am no wiser. However, with all my reading I have discovered that to make it cozy I need heIp. What would be the best batting for a floppy/flexable quilt that would be all season? Not to hot just warm. I guess I mean breathable. My son does not want it heavy either. Should I consider changing the backing?

  3. Hi all, Please provide some guidance for my issue. Issue: Quilt backing will not tighten evenly on the left side of the 12 foot frame. This issue is consistent with all my backings. It was gradual at first and now is increasing. So when the right side of the backing is tight, the left side is loose and hangs down. I've attached a photo but it hard to represent the issue. What I've done far: Squared the backing fabric before loading Pinned the center of backing and matched to center of canvas before pinning Read instructions on how to load quilt Thank you kindly, Jamie Bennett
  4. What are the best ways to coax backing fabric to relax and minimize the appearance of needle holes that expose the batting? I discovered in the forums that my customer falls into the "red, tight weave, wide backing fabric" category - which apparently has issues with needles, even brand new ones. Of course, I immediately took steps to prevent the holes (smaller needle, looser quilt, etc.), but I would appreciate your suggestions on what I can do to improve the appearance of the back.
