  1. I just setup a new to me 2004 Millennium. The former owner advised thee were no issues when the machine was taken down. Note, the former owner moved Millie from one city to another, then stored her New dry garage for 6 months, until I purchased her. (Boxed up for 6 months). Upon my purchase, I transported her very cautiously, 936 miles to my home. She was stored at my home 3 weeks while I made room for her. Upon completing the setup this morning, I powered the unit on, and saw two red lights on the left side, in positions 3 and 4, which indicates Needle Positioner Lockout and Needle Down Sensor. When attempting to use the needle up/down bottom on the right handle, the needle does raise very lowly, it will also go down very slowly. Anyone have ideas I can try before Monday morning? christine
  2. Hello all, My needle continuously break. Millennium, usually in stitch regulator mode. Seems like I am moving the machine head faster than the needle moves and the needle breaks. I rarely get through a quilt without 2-3 needs breaking, Sometimes more. Any troubleshooting guidance is appreciated. So frustrating to operate this way. Thank you, Jamie Bennett
  3. Hello, just setup my new Miile (ex demo) and find that the motor is straining (and takes an age) when I raise of lower the needle. It takes about 2 seconds to go up or down. The hand wheel on the side is also very stiff. Do I simply need to oil it, or has it been 'locked' for shipping? Any advice gratefully received! Thanks Daryl
  4. How often do you replace needles? Is that why my fabric looks like it has holes punched in it. Or is that because it's a batik? Or too tight on the frame? Tension off in my thread? It looks ok. Maybe a bit tight on the bobbin. I have pics of top and bottom of quilting. I also tightened top tension before starting this row but I'm attaching a pic of the last row on the roller bar. I think the top was too loose righty?
  5. If anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful. We have just finished setting up a new Millie with Quilt Path, have gone to start stitching and the needle up/down (white dot) doesn't work on either handle. The machine whirs like she would when you start stitching but the needle doesn't move. If you press down to start stitching she does start but then takes a while to stop and seems to catch in a mid cycle. The screen shows needle up and the needle is down in the fabric. Help please!! :-( thanks, Kara x
  6. I have a Lenni, and a small quilt made from silk ties backed with lightweight interfacing. What needle should I use? The regular needles (16?18? I don't remember because I bought 100 of them when I got the machine and haven't thought about it since!) just seem huge for such a fragile fabric - but then there is that interfacing, too. Or should I just quilt this on my domestic machine? Thanks!
  7. I have a 2012 APQS Millennium. I was working on a quilt yesterday afternoon & came across a thick seam & my needle broke. I replaced the needle (getting all the parts of the broken one), pounded the seam down & went again. Then the machine made a screeching sound & became stuck. Turns out the new needle broke & came out. Now the needle bar won't even go up & down. Turned the machine off & on again. Turned on with a screeching sound that wouldn't stop. I uncapped the flywheel & manually turned it. Took out the bobbin case & all the needle parts & tried to make the needle bar go up & down w/out a needle. It won't move on it's own (just makes a screeching sound) until I help it along with the fly wheel. Now a high pitched grinding noise is also coming from the machine- does anyone have any suggestions on how to begin to fix this? Thanks!
  8. Has anyone had this happen? I am waiting for APQS to open so I can call them but I think this is really a problem! yesterday I hit a safety pin (which I use to hold the quilt backing on the leaders). My customer cut the backing the same size as the top and I stupidly did it anyway so i had no margin for error. So, of course, I had a big error! I called APQS and they said it sounded like I jammed the needle bar and gave me instructions to adjust that. So, I did that. It was super hard to unscrew the needle bar set screw and I needed my hubby to strong arm it. Once the adjustment was done, he screwed it back tight. Still no luck. So this morning ( I am calmer now than last night when I was freaking out - oh, did I mention I have literally 10 inches left on the last row to do of this quilt?) I decide to try adjusting the needle bar again...maybe we are still a bit off..... so, we go to uncrew the needle bar set screw AND IT IS GONE. NOT IN THE HOLE. The screwdriver goes all the way into the machine. NOW, what the heck happened? i have no idea. The needle bar is tight. Doesn't budge at all. OY!!!! thoughts?
