Hi everyone. I was looking for some input on cutting fabric. What is your favorite way to cut your pieces of fabric? Rotary cutters, pre cut pieces, or accuquilt or quilt cut systems???? So many ways to make beautiful things. I'm looking for something that will help me achieve the most accurate cuts for my pieces. Ladies and gentlemen any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks Lynn
Hello everyone! I'm hoping you can help me with the best way to plan my next quilt. I am new to quilting and have created but one single quilt so far. I'm ready to start my second but I need your help! If you are willing to share, I'm wondering what tips/tricks you have found to be helpful in planning out your quilts. I'd like to know the best way to plan it out. What have you found to be helpful? Are there any special tools you use? Can you just envision it? (that will take a while or me), do you lay out the fabric on your kitchen table? What do I need to know before stepping in again. I had a lot of expert help on my last one and this one I am attempting on my very own. Yay me! Thanks for any tips you can offer.
A long time ago I was involved in a chat forum (started on QNN when it was free, but then moved to a new site when QNN started charging). Then after a few years, my computer blew up and I lost all my links. I tried in vain to find the forum, but never was successful. We used to do swaps all the time. I organized quite a few and they were all a great lot of fun. ..... Okay enough with the background. So here's what I'm thinking..... Would there be any interest in starting a swap of some kind beginning in January 2015? We could make it as simple as a FQ swap, a bag of scraps swap, or something more complex like a block swap, birthday block swap, or BOM swap. I'm open to other ideas as well. Open to quilters of all levels. Interested? Let me know. I can take care of all the organizing part, so all you'll have to do is play and have fun with the swap. Lora.
Christmas comes early at our house. My wonderful wife that's also a quilter gave me 20+ yards of fabric and everything needed to try snow dyeing fabric. We may also try low water immersion and immersion dyeing as well. I feel like a kid with a new chemistry kit just waiting for the next snow day (I'm a teacher-Geometry...I think of it as Pre-Quilting). Anyway I am looking for tips and suggestions. My wife is awesome. I can't wait to see what we do with this. It is truly a blessing to have someone you can create with together. Merry Christmas to all and may God bless you in the year to come. Don
