skrat
I have never used monofilament thread on my Freedom until now. Have a bunch of stitch in the ditch to do and decided to try the mono. I am extremely pleased with the tension on it. I think it is easier to set tension with than a lot of other superior threads that I use. Just wanted to share a good tension story instead of a bad one. We all know that we have plenty of those......lol
judysmith
Shannon, I have to agree. I'm half way through my first quilt using mono and the tension is great. Many thanks to all who have posted tips on using mono. Loosening the top tension 'till the spring nearly falls off' was the best tip - though I was a bit nervous that I'd go too far and the whole assembly would fall off! IBQLTN2
When you used mono poly for stitch in the ditch did you use it only on the top or both the top and bobbin. I have not tried it yet and need to do some around applique? Jeanne
susanramey
I've used monopoly also with great success. The first time I tried to use it in the bobbin but couldn't get the tension right and had to use bottom line. Now I just use So Fine or Bottom Line in bobbin and don't bother with monopoly in the bobbin.
skrat
Jeanne, I only use the mono in the top. I use bottom line prewound bobbins in the bottom and it works great.
IBQLTN2
THANKS YA'LL No sense causing myself any trouble, learn from others is what I like to do. I'll try bottom line for the bobbin. good deal.
