Yeah - I should put the labels on first - but alway forget. Plus I am such a stickler about placement and not sure if I could get the placement just right. What I really should do is line the label with fusible, tack down and then actually fuse. I am sure the label would stay on then.

Talked to new grandma today. New mom and Zander (the little guys name) are doing well. Had a home birth and all went well though I can tell you that grandma was a wreck just thinking about the baby being born at home. Mom had decorated Zander's room around the sock monkeys including polka dots on one wall, crib is black, changing table red, and walls pale yellow. This quilt should fit in perfectly. Also made a little pillow case (no pictures) that is reversible - stripes when turned one way and the beach panel when turned inside out. It turned out really cute.

Had actually made a different quilt first, but then because mom really wanted the sock monkeys - made the 2nd quilt. Will give the other quilt to a different couple with a new baby - haven't finished the other quilt - maybe next week.

Bobette,

Made a basic label layout in my machine embroidery program. Then with each quilt, I will just have to change the name and washing instructions if necessary - oh, and the year occasionally. It embroiders out in about 10+ minutes. Used double sided fusible and finally cut it out using the rotary cutter with the pinking shears type blade. Pretty quick and easy.

Hey, Meg, my student who just passed away collected Sock Monkeys. She had hundreds. They all were dressed differently; some were boys and some girls. Some didn't have tales and one was large enough to wear human clothing. She had sock monkey pajamas and sheets and everything. Her room was adorable. One of her quilts was quilted with a sock monkey panto. Zander's room is going to be adorable too. Your quilt is just soooo cute. :P:P:P
