Hallre
Dear all, I found these titles at the Professional Quilter's website the other day. Has anyone read them and/or recommend them? I hate to spend money in these tight times on books that are so-so. 1. 422 Tax Deductions for Businesses and Self-Employed Individuals by Bernard Kamoroff 2. Sell Your Crafts on EBay by James Dillehay 3. Small Time Operator by Bernard Kamoroff 4. The Basic Guide to Pricing you Craftwork by James Dillehay 5. The Basic Guide to Selling Arts and Crafts by James Dillehay 6. The Basic Guide to Selling your Crafts over the Internet by James Dillehay. My Mom and I are thinking of making some baby items to sell at craft fairs and quilt shows. Any advice on that idea would be appreciated as well. Have a GREAT day! pigletaz
One of the places I would look is amazon.com - if there are any Customer reviews for those particular books, that will help you with deciding on whether they are worth the money. Even if you don't purchase the books through amazon, it is still a great reference point because people post their opinions. It's not just editorial reviews - which may or may not be helpful to you. Calicoquilter
Rose, Check your local library. I used to work at a public library and if they didn't own the book, they could inter-library loan it from another library that did. You might have to wait a bit, but at least you could look at the book and decide if it was worth buying before spending the money on it.
