hollyc
I actually did a curved spine through the log cabin blocks and then did feathers through the darker side of the blocks, then did a stencil in the opposite section.

countrystitcher
My favorite panto: Come Dance With Me would look fantastic on a log cabin and it looks like you did it free-hand. I used a wool batting and it gave it some loft while not getting heavy. Have fun! Sharon
Boni
How about just going down the middle of the "logs" with a wavey line in a spiral fashion, in and out again, then move on the the next block? The wavey line could have a curl now and then, or a hook/curl/flower etc, in the center. That way you miss all those seams and it's fast.

JBQuilts
I also have a log cabin that I need some ideas on quilting. The difference is the logs surround a 4 patch posie in the center. If I quilt say feathers in the logs I don't know what to put in the posie. Any ideas? The posie is about a 6 inch square and the logs don't run into it. Is that clear? Bekah
I just finished one with a baptist fan because that is what the customer wanted and it turned out soo neat. I will try to post a picture. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it looked
dtreusch
I just finished a log cabin last night and it is in my webshots. You could take what I did in the light areas and do it as an edge to edge. I've done this design as an edge to edge on log cabins before and it looks great.
