marikds
I really appreciate all your suggestions on my snapping top thread. I changed threads, got a good bobbin winder, only used two of the three holes in the thread path and figured out that I had the fabric sandwich OVER the bar instead of under (bar next to the take up bar-what a difference that change made!). I started out again and everything was working beautifully until the second quilt. Once again, half way down I started snapping my top thread. It was late so I shut the machine off and will go back to it after work today. Hopefully I just missed something little when I loaded the second top. BobbieJones
It may be that you have the quilt to tight between the rollers. Try to loosen it. bj
quiltmonkey
Also try loosening your bobbin tension. Machine tensions that are too tight on top & bottom will cause this to happen. If you do the drop test with the bobbin it should slowly unroll like a spider would drop down on a web. After you adjust the bobbin tension, test quilting again and adjust the top as necessary.
